You could get a stereo installation kit for your year, make & model, that comes with a pigtail plug that would plug right into the existing harness plug and prevent you from having to hack up your original wiring harness.

If not....

Car Radio memory Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: The radio harness does not provide a switched power source. Run a wire to the fusebox for switched power.
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black/White
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Pink
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue

Good luck

The wires should be grey, orange and black, purple, and a black wire. The purple goes to purple, grey to gray. The orange and black goes to the small black wire on your car harness and the black goes to the bigger black.

How to bypass 2001 Chevy impala factory amp.

You need a volt /ohm meter. Pull the radio. Cut the tape off the harness, find the twisted pairs of wires (look at the colors of them). These are the speaker wires. Go to the amp and find those wires. Cut them loose. Look at the speakers wire for the rear dash. There is four of them. Measure the resistance of one speaker. You need this number to find the front speakers/wires. Once you find the wires, If you want to match the radio to control front/back/left/and right. You have to adjust the radio and match the speaker wires. I have yet to find a matching schematic to this.

How to wire an aftermarket wire harness for a 2002 impala

I have a 2000 impala. Today I just had to buy a $115 wire harness just to hook up my deck and speakers. It's because there's two pieces instead of one to connect to the harness. It's because when u turn your key off ,your radio plays until you open the door. The harness comes with a fan type thing ,that keeps everything from dying.hope this helps

Suburu radio wire harness. trying to match up with a new soni deck

Hello uze7, Here is the wiring match up for a 2009 Subaru Forester using the Metra 70-7552 wiring harness: NOTE: The actual harness will be listed as a Nissan harness, but has been used by Subaru since 2007. Also, I'm assuming that your Sony deck uses the standard color code. If not, you should have a manual that lists the function along with the colors. Match the wiring by function, not by color (although the colors may be the same). 2009 Subaru Forester Radio Wiring Color Code: Battery BLUE/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Accessory YELLOW/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Ground BLACK (-) RADIO HARNESS Illumination VIOLET (+) RADIO HARNESS Dimmer BLACK/WHITE (-) RADIO HARNESS Power Antenna YELLOW/BLACK (+) RADIO HARNESS LF Speaker (+) BROWN LF Speaker (-) BROWN/WHITE RF Speaker (+) BLUE/WHITE RF Speaker (-) BLUE/YELLOW LR Speaker (+) WHITE/BLACK LR Speaker (-) RED/YELLOW RR Speaker (+) GRAY RR Speaker (-) GRAY/RED Metra Harness: Yellow ? 12V Constant Red ? 12V Accessory Black - Ground Orange ? Right Rear Speaker (+) Purple/Black - Right Rear Speaker (-) Gray ? None of the speakers will work different

best bet is to wire back up the factory wiring harness end then go to walmart or to autozone and buy a 10 dollar wiring harness. It is specific for the vehicle. It will plug into your wiring harness then matches color to color with the back of an aftermarket harness. Trying to match everything up is a gamble and it takes 20 times longer. There's no thinking to the other harness.
