SOURCE: What is the proper way to adjust deck of a gravely

Ideally, the blades should be level when measured on a flat concrete surface. Otherwise, they'll cut shallow trenches - front if the deck is pitched forward, rear if the deck is pitched rearward. If the blades are level, they'll cut flat all the way across.

How does the torsion attach to the deflector and lawn mower deck of a 52" mowing deck ?

You might go on line and search for the operaters manual.

I would suggest you post in the appropriate area unless you are attaching your wet laundry to the mower and driving around until it is dry.

I have a scag 52" hydro walk behind. The engine runs great but sometimes the PTO will not engage. sometimes I can run to high RPM and it will kick on other times it wont. Any suggestions?

I need to adjust my scag mower deck

The mower deck can be adjusted from a height of 1.0 inch to 6.0 inches at 1/4-inch intervals. To adjust the cutting height:
1. Disengage the power to the cutter blades.
2. Push the cutting height adjustment foot pedal all the way forward using your right foot until it locks in place
3. Insert the lanyard pin into the cutting height index at the desired cutting height. Push forward on the deck lift foot lever, hold in place and pull back on the deck release lever. Slowly release the foot pedal. A deck height decal is located on the cutting height index as an aid in adjusting the deck to the desired height.

Does the scag have the control switches in one of the control arms? Have you tried taking a test light going to battery positive and hooking that into the feed supply side of the fuse( the side of the fuse that does not have battery power to it) if the test light is on this would mean that is shorting to ground somewhere within the harness at that time you'll need to wiggle each part in the harness while watching the light to go out or blink showing your close to the source of the short a close examination then you should locate it. Bare or chaffed wire.

Find a level surface (concrete garage floor for example) ... adjust front to back ... use a tape meadure to mneasure floor to deck edge ... then adjust side to side.
