Change your input source. You are probably on Input Source "TV". My HDMI cable is plugged in INPUT 4 so make sure that your TV is set to the right INPUT.

SOURCE: TV No Picture

My 32D40U would turn on for 5-10 seconds (Please Wait would appear) and the screen would go black. Sound Normal. It would also sometimes do this after running 5-10 minutes. I read somewhere that the inverter board would come loose and lose proper ground. I took the set apart, removed the board, and cleaned up the grounding points. I reassembled using some copper paste on the ground points and LockTite on the screws. I used some contact cleaner on all the connectors going to the board. I noticed two cables that are covered with copper shield tape where too tight at their connectors and repositioned the tape to give them some slack. The problem hasn't occurred since the fix.

SOURCE: LCD picture distortion.

This is caused by a failure of the main board. The failure causes the refresh rate of the unit to be off creating a trailing or ghost effect. This will require a technician to replace that board though. Hope this help.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos LC-65D64U Picture Quality

You need to change your TV's settings and enhancements. Directly from the store and out of the box, the settings are adjusted for easiest sell in the store. That means that:
Your contrast is cranked to 100. Move this down to 50 to 60.
Your brightness may also be cranked up high. Lower it to a level nearer the middle range but not so dark as to lose detail in the shadows.
Your TV is set on "Dynamic" or "Vivid" mode. Pick "natural" or "normal" or standard.
Your sharpness is at least on, if not cranked up. Turn sharpness down or off, and the same with "Edge Enhancement" and "VSM", all to off.

Lastly, I bet you upgraded size and you are now sitting too close to the TV. Roughly, if you are sitting closer than 130 inches (about 11 foot) you might do some rearranging or save some money and get a smaller TV.

When I turn on the TV, the picture is fuzzy. After five minutes, the picture is clear but any words are out of focus even the menu for adjustments is out of focus. The convergence for red is clear but...

Hi,

Below are some troubleshooting tips for a TV that has a fuzzy or blurry picture;

If your Plasma or LCD TV picture is blurry or fuzzy there are several things that may be causing the problem. It's worth running through the following list before seeking service. You may find yourself saving the full cost of a TV repair.

Make sure you are using the appropriate cable box for your TV. If you have a high-definition TV you should also be using a high-def channel box from your cable provider. Watching standard definition channels on a high-def TV can make the picture look distorted and fuzzy.

Not all cable channels are broadcast in high-definition. When you stretch a standard definition picture to fill the full frame of your wide-screen TV it may look distorted. You can try changing your TV display settings to show standard-def channels at their native resolution. This will create black or gray bands on either side of your picture.

Ideally all of your video components will be connected to your TV with HDMI cables. Your next best option will be component video cables. If your cable box does not have HDMI capabilities, contact your cable company about upgrading your box to one that does include HDMI.

Make sure there is no glare on your TV from a window or other strong light source. This can significantly degrade the quality of the image you are watching.

If your TV has digital noise reduction, try turning that feature on.

You can adjust your TV's sharpness and picture modes to see if that improves picture quality.

Try plugging the power cord into a different electrical outlet and/or surge protector. You may be receiving electrical interference through your power cord.

Trying moving any nearby electrical devices away from the TV. They may be creating interference that can degrade the picture quality.

Let me know if the above helps or not, so that I can direct you further on what do next.....

Best regards.

Blank screen with other displays still working

1. By View your DVR, Do you mean you can actually see a picture?
2. By "Switch Channels", are these channels being tuned by the TV Tuner?

Your LCD Panel is OK Since you have a Picture (input display in right corner)
If you can see a picture with your DVR, VCR, DVD or any external source then your TVs Video Processing is OK....if not you will probably need to replace the responsible PWB for this function
If you can see a picture with the external sources and only the TV's Tuner is not showing Video, The PWB responsible for Tuning within the TV should be replaced.

Also, if all problems are associated with only the DVR (I assume this is Sat or Cable), then it is most likely that this device is not functioning properly. Possibly lost signal or deauthorized.
