SOURCE: tension on stitches

Loose bottom stitches mean the UPPER tension has a problem. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.) If it does not work this way( the tension stays loose) you will need to set the tension to Zero, open the discs with a small screwdriver and remove the lint or thread which is stuck in there.

SOURCE: replacement foot pedal and wiring for Euro Pro

Here's a place that carries all the pedals. Many are used by various brands, and go under different names for different machine companies. The euro-pro manual has the manufacturer's name and the model #, or you can browse the drawings of pedals to match your own. My euro-pro 9110 uses a model also used by viking and huskevarna. This place carries the cords as well.
Good luck.

SOURCE: zig zag won't work

Make sure stitch width slider is not set to zero. If not then you either have a bind in the needle bar pivot or an electrical problem (bad stepper motor or bad circuit board).
I can't remember if this machine has a twin needle lock out, if so turn it off.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: Zigzag stitch pulling tight, looks wrong

Try adusting the bobbin thread instead of the top. Always make sure to insert the bobbin so the thread is pulling in a clock wise direction. Both threads top and bobbin should have about the same resitance when pulled.

Step 3. Cover garbage can, cursing loudly.

I have a Euro-pro model 6131 sewing machine.I just oiled and cleaned it. I am trying to find the standard factory settings i.e stitch length, stitch width, tension, and stitch setting, etc.

The only factory standard settings that you need to worry about is the top tension and the bobbin tension. The standard factory top tension is the midway point between high & low numbers. That is the ideal tension setting for most fabrics, thread, and needles. However, that is also adjusted based on what you are sewing. Bobbin tension you should leave as is unless there are issues that the top tension will not resolve. The other settings you mention are all adjustable based on what you want to do with your machine, ie straight vs zig-zag stitch, etc.--no standard factory setting.

I'm sewing a zig zag stitch and the underside is a perfect zig zag and the upper side looks like it should be the underside....how can I fix this so that the beautiful zig zag is on the top?

FIRST > Make sure your bobbin case is threaded correctly...

NEXT
For normal straight sewing the top tension should be around 5, for zigzag or satin stitch you need to lower your upper thread tension a bit. Try it at 4, if it still pulls your bottom thread to the top try it at 3 etc...

I have a Euro- Pro Model 9106 Deluxe Denim and Silk. I have problems with it jamming often and now it is running very rough and not stiching well. I think it needs to be oiled. Do I just remove the bobbin...

My advice would be to NOT use just any oil but only a highly refined clear oil specific to sewing machines and labeled as such. 3 in One oil is good for some other machines but not recommended for electronic machines. I'm also experiencing rough running w/ my model 9106 after sewing heavy denim material. It now jerks from zig zag stitch to straight stitch and will run w/o the foot pedal being pressed. I'll keep looking for answers.

Shark 384 - how can i get a straight stitch?

with the Shark Euro-Pro X machine, you need to bring the stitch width to zero it's the nob on top of the machine the manual states not to use it wider then 3 with the double needle cause it can break the needle. but either stitch selection "A" or "S" will give straight stitching with width at zero.
