I have a Bamix and cannot remove the blade as the spindle keeps turning back on itself. This makes the appliance unusable for other uses.

SOURCE: instruction manual for the bamix immersion blender

From the BAMIX.com website
Mayonnaise 1 egg (or 1 egg yolk) 1 teaspoon of lemon juice 1 teaspoon of herb vinegar 1 pinch salt 1 pinch pepper 1 ½ - 2 cups of oil 1 teaspoon of french mustard Put all the ingredients except the oil in a jug (not too large) and blend well with the WHISK. Then add the oil in a thin, steady stream (not drop by drop), processing all the time, until the mayonnaise has reached the required consistency. To achieve perfect results, all ingredients should be at the same temperature.

SOURCE: Bamix stick blender Handle vibrates but shaft does not turn

Old food residue and juices will have got into the shaft bearings, and have dried out enough in 9 years to stop it turning. Starting with the simplest solution, try immersing the shaft in hot, or even boiling, water nearly up to the top of the metal shaft. CAUTION - DON'T BURN YOURSELF! Let it stand in the water for a few hours, and then try turning the shaft by hand (with the machine unplugged, of course). This could be repeated a number of times. You may also be able to unscrew the blade guard after this treatment, bear in mind it has a left hand thread, so if you are looking at it from the bottom, turn it clockwise to loosen. Be careful not to lose any seals or springs when it comes off.

If this doesn't work, support the Bamix upside down, and pour a small amount of WD-40 into the blade guard, so that it pools around the end of the shaft. Leave to stand, and the oil should slowly seep into the bearings, dissolving the food residues. Again, try this a few times.

If neither of these work, the Bamix will need to be dismantled to clean the shaft and bearings. This is really beyond the scope of this forum and requires some experience of this type of work.

SOURCE: how to make a smoothie with my bamix handheld blender

That wonderful little stick is all you need, I sure love mine! Make sure your Mixing cup is larger than the one supplied and remember to pump up and down vigorously as you blend. Keep swirling the bottom to make sure everything got picked up and blended. You can also make powdered salt,(great for french fries) powdered sugar, Dried garlic can be made into your own freshest garlic powder (great for spaghetti and pizza). peanut butter, apple butter and Whipped cream. I also use mine to make a crazy Jello only treat that tastes like sherbet, ice cream and Jello just by blending Jello and Ice cubes. Then I chill right away after pouring it into small 3 inch glasses.

I need attachments

It seems you can no longer buy the HA-3058 or parts for that, however Bamix sells a similar product it seems to be the same machine with only a few aesthetic changes.

They sell many accessories and you can get blades.
Check:
http://www.bamix.com/
http://www.bamix-blender.co.uk/

I have had our customers buy the Bamix blades for the MegaMix HA3058 and the blades are interchangeable on those machines.

Why don't you just clean it?

Blade won't spin

Check the blade with it off the base and make sure that it spins freely. Check the spindle on the base and see if it feels hard to turn. If the spindle turns too easy , then the connection inside the base is broken and needs replacing.

I have a Bamix Immersion Blender, but it stopped working. Press it on and it makes a humming sound but does not move. Where (in Canada) can it be repaired or replaced?

Sounds like the motor shaft has broken from the impeller. If I had it I would crack the case and see if that were true.(You might see screws holding the case together- If not, they might be hidden under the cosmetic label. If it is true, you need factory help. You better call Customer Service for Bamix.
THis is from http://www.bamix-usa.com/:
The drive shaft is frozen i.e. no longer rotates although the motor still hums: place the operative part of the appliance for 5 to 10 minutes in a jug of hot water, then switch it on. In general the appliance will then work again - if not just try to free the shaft very carefully with pliers

It can happen that the attachments fall off the shaft as they have in time become loose. In this case simply press the spring blades lightly together with a pair of pliers Processor/Dry Grinder: Discoloration of the bowl (i.e. carrots) can be cleaned with a cloth impregnated with salad oil.
