SOURCE: I've just bought a vistaquest FS-501 Scanner. I
tweak the USB cable at the back socket of the box...there's a certain point where the cable will actually work and then you will have an image on the screen...sort of not quite completely fully in to the socket.
you're meant to be able to see an image on the screen and it's a manufacturing fault I think. good luck!
SOURCE: OVT Scanner won't run with Windows 7. Vupoint
We suffered this initially on a new laptop with Windows 7. I can't tell if the driver on the Vupoint website has been updated, or is the old XP/Vista driver, but we installed this (1/2011). In Picasa or the Photoimpressions software which comes with the scanner, we were then only able to acquire solid black images. However, when we tried all of the USB ports on the computer, we found that one of them (a USB2 rather than USB1 port) was able to function like normal. We suspect there is a funny issue with the amount of power going to the scanner from different USB ports, and maybe this interacts with the driver in some way.
SOURCE: I have installed Arcsoft MedialImpression
Hi!
It would've helped if you specified the operating system you're using... There have been reports of problems initiating the program on Windows 7, especially of 64-bits.
Anyways, I'll advise you first trying run the program in a compatibility mode (link for Windows 7/Vista; works similar on Windows XP).
If this fails:
1. Uninstall the software.
2. Restart the computer.
3*. Clear remaining files/directory related to ArcSoft and/or Medial Impression in Common Files (within Program Files) and in Application Data (in your user directory -- in Local Settings and in Application Data itself).
4*. Clear the temporary files directory (link works for all Windows versions).
5. Reinstall the software...
The directories involve are usually hidden... To unhide them, follow this.

SOURCE: I need drivers for vupoint
Hi,
You can download the drivers from the VuPoint support website by clicking this link
On the page which opens, scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the driver for FS-C1VP listed under the Converters category. Click on the "Download" link to download the driver.
The driver file is in .zip format. After the download finishes, extract the driver file from the zip archive.
Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.
