After reading all of the reviews on Sears.com, it seems these batteries require charging and discharging 3-5 times before they hold a full charge.
All of the reviews mentioned this; they said it lasted 5-10 mins the first few times, but then they suddenly got 30-50 mins per charge after the 3rd to 5th charging.

hi, ok you mentioned nothing about the charger, is it built in ? or stand alone charger, can you try another charger ??
If you have a Electrical meter tester check that the charging socket pins do actually connect to the batteries if not check the charging socket,
of the three charging pins two are the positive & negative so should show 24 volts the odd one out the one in the middle just below the other two is the inhibit , that is normally grounded otherwords negative.
Sound like a loose connection so please check all connections if you are sure the charger is ok.
