After reading all of the reviews on Sears.com, it seems these batteries require charging and discharging 3-5 times before they hold a full charge.

All of the reviews mentioned this; they said it lasted 5-10 mins the first few times, but then they suddenly got 30-50 mins per charge after the 3rd to 5th charging.

SOURCE: 230 chauffeur doesn't charge. Batteries new and

hi, ok you mentioned nothing about the charger, is it built in ? or stand alone charger, can you try another charger ??

If you have a Electrical meter tester check that the charging socket pins do actually connect to the batteries if not check the charging socket,

of the three charging pins two are the positive & negative so should show 24 volts the odd one out the one in the middle just below the other two is the inhibit , that is normally grounded otherwords negative.

Sound like a loose connection so please check all connections if you are sure the charger is ok.

Regards
GeWiz.

I have a B&D Cordless Grass Hog. It suddenly won't charge. When I plug in the charger, the light won't come on. Is it just getting too old or is there anything I can do to fix this one?

Black and Decker has had numerous complaints from consumers. Most of them are over a failed batttery or batttery charger. There have been reports that their service centers refuse to repair them, stating that it is not cost effective. so, if a unit is still under their warranty, they probably just replace it. In your case, if it is an older unit; consider yourself one of the lucky ones that had one to work for an extended period of time. If you choose, the charger and the batteries for it can have their electrical capacities checked with a simple volt-meter tool. The tool doesn't lie and would let you know if the charger's output is correct and if the batteries are holding their charge.

Need Replacement Battery for CST2000

243215-00 is the part number for the Grasshog's battery pack, but that part is now obsolete. However, you can get the internal battery (part #243213-00 )itself from Amazon for $35.99:

How do I make it go - I don't have an opertrator's manual so don't know how to start it - holding down the trigger doesn't work.

That is how you start it. There may be a battery problem, a switch problem or wiring problem. If it worked before, I would work the switch without opening it (just as it should operate) several times. If that doesn't work, make sure the battery is charged and in properly. If that doesn't work it will probably in the wiring. Good luck...Lee

Hello

The motor is probably burned out. It may be time for a new one. It is not worth the cost to replace the motor. A new unit is cheaper than getting that one repaired. It is part of being a "disposable" society.
Good day.
