  1. Red wire (5V): Connect the red wire from the throttle to the 5V or +5V output on your controller. This wire provides the 5-volt power supply for the throttle.
  2. White wire (Output): Connect the white wire from the throttle to the throttle signal input on your controller. This wire carries the throttle position signal and communicates the speed or power level to the controller.
  3. Black wire (Negative): Connect the black wire from the throttle to the negative or ground terminal on your controller. This wire completes the circuit and provides the ground connection.
  4. Green wire (Battery positive): Connect the green wire from the throttle to the positive terminal of your battery. This wire provides the positive power supply for the throttle.
  5. Yellow wire (Switch): The yellow wire is typically used as a switch wire for the self-lock function. Depending on your specific controller and setup, you may need to connect this wire to the designated switch input or function on your controller. Consult the documentation or instructions provided with your controller for proper connection of the switch wire.

SOURCE: wiring ceiling fans to wall switch

Hi Bigelow,

You need two switches.  It sounds like the Electrician set up the junction box for two circuits(Lights and Fans).  i say this because your supply has 4 wires, Red , Black, White and Bare. We may be able to oversome this with one Lutron Switch. Allow me to investigate, and I will be back.

2) Your single-pole switch has 2 wires.
0192773 replaces single-pole switch only.
Black wire that connects each of the switches is Hot wire: connect this wire to timer Black wire.
Other black wire that connects to switch goes to load: connect this wire to timer red wire.
Timer white wire connects to white wires that are covered with wire nut.
Timer green connects to bare ground wire.

What are the electrical readings on the throttle positioning sensor

The throttle position sensor has both an idle contact switch and a basic 3 wire potentiometer that measures throttle angle opening. The idle switch and the throttle potentiometer share a ground wire.
To test the sensor first you have to verify that the wiring is intact by
1. Disconect the sensor and with a volt meter check the 4 wires. I have attached a wire diagram and picture of the pin layout to make it easy for you.
Pin 1 ( Yellow wire) is the PCM reference voltage. Specification is 5V
Pin 2 ( Red and Green wire) is the signal wire for the TPS. Specification is 5V
Pin 3 (Blue and white wire) is the idle switch. Specification 5V. Please note that this circuit is not actually used by this year Sedona so some vehicles are missing the wire.
Pin 4 (Black and yellow wire) is the ground. Specification: continuity to ground ( less than 1 ohm)
If the voltages are correct next you want to check the sensor.
1. Connect the throttle sensor connector.
2. Key on engine off
3.With a voltmeter measure terminal 2 of the sensor with the throttle closed, Specification is .2 to.4 volts.
4. With ta voltmeter monitor terminal 2 with the throttle fully open. The specification on terminal 2 is 4 to 4.4 V.
5. Slowly open and close the throttle while monitoring terminal 2 and make sure you have a smoot increase and decrease in voltage as the throttle is moved from close to open throttle and returned to idle.

GE digital timer. Instructions say to: 1) connect Hot/live wire of main to black wire of timer, 2) connect neutral (White) wires together, 3) connect Hot/live wire of load to red from timer. 4) green to...

Find the Hot wire:
Your switch has 2 wires. One of these wires is Hot, and one goes to load. Disconnect wires from switch. Turn on power. Do not stand on wet surface. Test each wire to bare copper wire. When tester lights up, that is Hot wire. The other wire goes to load.

Connect wires:
Hot wire goes to Black timer wire
Wire to load goes to Red timer wire
White wire connects to white wires that are twisted together
Bare copper wire connects to Green wire from timer

How to connect white wire to white wires that are twisted together.
a) Strip white timer wire so you have 1-1/2 " of bare wire. Stranded wire will wrap around other wires easily.
b) Remove wire nut. DO NOT UNTWIST wires.
c) Hold all whites together so bare copper lines up. Wrap stranded copper around the twisted wire.
d) Replace wire nut, or use larger wire nut. Twist real tight. Do not use tape. You can solder the connection.
e) When done, pull on white time wire to make sure it is held tight. Push whites back into box.

I have an outside spot light with a motion detector controlled by an inside switch. I want to change outside fixture & install dimmer switch in place of wall switch. I removed outside fixture. There...

First, let me say that if you're not entirely comfortable doing high voltage electrical work, you might want to call an electrician. It's not impossible for you to get hurt or killed or burn down your house. At least be sure to turn of the circuit breaker while you're working on it.

The blacks and whites twisted together are passing through power to other parts of your premises and are always on, so be sure to keep them twisted together. The red is the one that will take power from your light switch and send it to your light fixture.

At the fixture, connect the white to white and red to black, the same as before. At the light switch, connect the black to one side of the switch and the red to the other. When you turn on the switch, it will permit power from the black to travel down the red to the fixture, and from the fixture, the circuit will be completed through the white.

Good luck!
