I suggest you go to the company's website and look up your tea maker. You might have to call the company as well to find a replacement for your glass jug.

anon.nick-20625 was right.

Opened the bottom of the kettle, not the charging base, using the three odd screws.

Found the white trip switch, which was a white line in the socket which connects the kettle to the charging base. Pressed it with a screwdriver and it came out more. Tested the kettle, works!

You can use steel pot to make a Tea, do you know Loose tea is very simple to make.
If you will use steel pot that is easy to hold and keep.

Vinegar is very good at removing scaly deposits. Heat white/clear vinegar just as you would normally heat the water for your tea. After heating the vinegar, pour out and rinse thoroughly with water. If there are still deposits after this first attempt, use vinegar once again. Once you are satisfied that all the deposits have been removed, heat water in the tea pot 2-3 times to remove any smell or taste from the vinegar (before using for tea).

Over time the heat can causes the plastic parts to swell until the button that releases the lid gets stuck. The button can be easily & carefully pried completely out of the hole with a knife **note the orientation of the button and spring for replacement. Clean the button & hole but expect the button to still stick when re-inserted back into the kettle. Take the button back out and if you take a knife and gently carve/scrape away some of the plastic round the inside of the rim of the 'hole' and around the edge of the plastic button, you can remove enough of the plastic so that the button now moves easily back and forth in the hole releasing the lid.
