I have a Pioneer VSX-1022 receiver. I was setting a FireTV to control it. FireTV turned it off but couldn’t turn it back on. I held down the Adv Surround button and the Standby button and it came back on. Seemed to be working fine. Turned it off. Came back later to watch some TV and t wouldn’t turn on. I had to do the Adv Surround/Standby combo again. Turned on. Any idea what is happening here?

Maybe setting problem. Download VSX1022 service manual to read advance setting if this manual has. If problem cannot solve, just phone pioneer to call for help or send an email to their service department. They will help you. I recommend phone them. Don't be shame when call for help.

SOURCE: Receiver Turned Off Won't Turn On

Something had to be hooked up incorrectly.... make sure that all wires are still connected.... make sure they are tightly together.... wires can slip out very easily unless they are soldered together.... if all else fails, it may cost a little more... but if you get it done professionally, it is worth it... make sure that none of the different colored wires touched it. Also... check the fuse in the back of the cd player.... that can also be the issue. :D hope all works well for you.... stereo equipment is not cheap by any means.... Please rate answer well :D .. and good luck!

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-D411 receiver "Amp Error" message

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.
Good luck

SOURCE: Pioneer vsx-819H: MCACC setup won't display on tv

Its because the pioneer does not display menu options through hdmi. You have to hook up basic yellow composite to monitor out.

How to program my sanyogxdb remote to w ok rk my pioneer elite vsx 33 rece v er

To program your Sanyo GXDB remote to work with your Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver, you can try the following steps:
  1. Turn on the Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver manually using the power button located on the receiver itself.
  2. Hold down the "Code Search" button on your Sanyo GXDB remote until the LED light on the remote stays lit or blinks.
  3. Press the "TV" or "DVD" button on the remote, depending on which device mode you want to program the receiver to.
  4. Enter the corresponding code for Pioneer receivers. You can find a list of Pioneer remote control codes in the instruction manual that came with your Sanyo GXDB remote or by searching online. Enter the code using the number buttons on the remote.
  5. Point the remote at the Pioneer receiver and press the "Power" button. If the receiver turns off, it means the remote has been successfully programmed. If not, repeat the process using a different code from the list until you find the one that works.
  6. Once the remote successfully turns off the receiver, press the "Code Search" button again to save the code. The LED light on the remote should turn off or stop blinking.
  7. Test the remote by pressing other buttons, such as volume up/down or channel up/down, to ensure it is functioning properly with your Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver.
If you're still having trouble programming the remote, consult the instruction manual that came with the Sanyo GXDB remote or contact Sanyo customer support for further assistance.

I have a Pioneer VSX-1022 Reciever - I get no sound when it is on the "TUNER"

These models have a problem where it is very easy for the tuner pcb to become disconnected from the main pcb. About the only way I've found to fix it, is to take the back panel completely off and reseat the board.

My pioneer vsx 921 switched off while playing loud. ADv MCACC is flashing and it is not powering on? What could be the problem?

Your unit is locked in protection mode. Hold the advanced surround button and the power button to turn it back on. If it shutdown right away, then you shorted out the amp and need to take it in for repair.

My pioneer vsx 815 amplifier has a flashing blue standby light. Have tried resetting by pressing enter and advanced surround keys. All it does is flash a few other LEDs and then goes back to the flashing...

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

"enter and advanced surround keys"? I don't see that documented as a special function in the manual.

BTW: other than the Flashing light, is there a malfunction?

Page 72 describes how it REALLY resets...

Pioneer VSX-D710S and the message SP off and DTS off message appear and I have no sound. Any ideas how to turn them back on?

The SP off message is the setting for turning the speakers off while headphones are connected on some Pioneer models. If yours is one such model, hold down the RECEIVER button and press the SPEAKER (text may be written above another main function) button on the remote simultaneously and the sound should return.

Stand by button flashes but receiver wont turn on

I have vsx-d812 that has an AMP ERR in error menu. the troubleshooting was found to be Q696 and Q697 in the DC prot. area on "C" board, up near front toward diplay in center of c board. You can get access to error codes on VSX pioneer unit by pressing "enter" and "adv. surr." simultaneously for 2 sec. The display should show what error code you are experiencing. I believe there are three diff. error codes. 1) AMP ERR 2) OVERLOAD 3) BOAD ERR (not mistyped) I hope this helps pinpoint error code for ya.
