My Maytag DW is Model MDB5000AWA, it has a control knob not buttons. It is a JET Clean Super Capacity Quiet Plus. There are some soft touch buttons which read DELAY START, CLEAN and HEATED DRY...

This is the problem, I have just replaced the door latch and the door latch assembly and now it works but it will not draw in water. Then I noticed that one of the soft touch buttons is lit up.. DELAY START. There is no reset and no cancel Delay Start. How can I cancel that function so I am able to see if the DW works. Checked the float and the water feed line both ok. There are options for 6, 4 and 2 hrs. Delay but can't close it and wait because the heat ring does get hot and without water it would not be good. Anything you can do to help me get this started would be great. THANK YOU

Shut the dishwasher off at the breaker. then restart it. See if that clears the board.you may have put the machine into a control lock out. Look for that button. press and hold it for 3 seconds. see if that doesn't clear the board.

Thank you. that cleared the delay. Still no water, but turned the knob, saw a light go on and tried it and EUREKA water... thank you again.

SOURCE: The heated dry and clean lights flash together

I had this same problem. I read on another blog that the manual recommends that you turn the power off to dishwasher. When you turn the washer back on, the lights still flash but then push the off button. The lights stopped flashing.

Mine was doing the same thing and I just pressed and held down the heated dry button until the light went off. Then I was able to start my machine as usual. Hope this works for you.

SOURCE: Frigidaire F/L Washer - Delay Start will not reset?

I had this EXACT problem this morning and ended up calling the Sears Home Central Team out (I have an extended maintenance agreement). This is an error code that CAN BE RESET by the end user (you and me!) and doesn't need a repairmain. Here's what you do:

PRESS AND HOLD the START and CANCEL BUTTONS.
The four lights above the START button will begin to flash.
Continuing holding the START and CANCEL button and "spin" your wash selector knob to "SPIN".
Release the START and CANCEL buttons and Press the START button.
This will RESET the error codes within the system and allow you to "cancel out" of the DELAY START.

IF the error codes are "bad ones", then the system will stay locked and you'll need to call a repairman; however, this "fix" should work for MOST of the routine system error codes.

Worked on mine and we're a happy washing family once again!!

SOURCE: Most of buttons on touch pad are not working.

This was posted in another maytag qs300 thread there are 2 ways to fix the front panels on these dishwashers. My advice fix it as cheaply as possible and save some cash to get a better dish washer because these newer maytags are just plain awfull.

Quick fix for dishwasher from hell.
What I found was to turn off the breaker to the dishwasher, unscrew the inside panel ( about 12 Torx screws ), remove the black cover on the computer ( 1 hex head screw ) remove the ribbon cable coming from the front panel by easing down the plastic locking tab, then take a soft clean cloth and gently wipe the end of the ribbon cable (both sides) and reinstall. This keeps our machine working for another couple of month, when I go thru the same exercise again. I think it is condensation that makes the ribbon cable connection bad or short across two of the lands.

Permanent fix for dishwasher from hell.
The flex cable shown in the pictures above was bad on my unit also. It looks to me like they are pulling too much current through this cable to run all the LED's on the front panel. Mine died the instant death so I removed the touch pad and traced out the wiring.

The start/cancel switch is a connection between pin 6 and pin 10 on the ribbon cable. There is a 10K resistor in series with the switch to limit the current.

I tried to order the part from my local parts house and was told it was a special order only and would take about 4 weeks to get. Later I found you could purchase it off the internet and not have to wait quite as long. Since the replacement part is the full plastic piece across the top of the door I decided to try a mod. The touch panel is just glued to the plastic piece so I removed it completely. That leaves some glue that will need to be cleaned up but I can do that later.

I found a C&K momentary push button switch that fit in a 1/4 inch hole. I drilled the front panel in the center to accept the switch. If you moved it to one side it might not conflict with the latch switches quite as much but I made it fit.

I then looked in my junk box and found two pieces of 18 gauge wire and one 10K resistor. I put the resistor on the normally open pin on the switch and then connected a wire to that. The other wire went to the common pin on the switch.

When you look at the control board the pins are labeled as 2 on one end and 18 on the other. You only see every other pin as there is another row that is buried. You need pins 6 and 10 so they are on the visible row. Use a small soldering iron and connect the two wires up to those pins. It does not matter which one goes where.

Put it all back together and push the button. You do not have all the flashing lights or options but I am now washing my first load of dishes in several weeks.

Need to ID Maytag dryer with no label?

The label should be at the back where the power goes in. The label is supposed to be not able to be removed (strong adhesive or metal and riveted. There may also be a service manual and wiring diagram in the top console.

Pictures and mentions here, but no model details. You could also try emailing Maytag.

You can upload pictures, but we know what the machine is because of your excellent description.

After more searching it may be MDE4806AYW although it says 12 cycles?

Where is the model number on maytag quiet plus ii washer

Posted on November 16, 2012 M/F FREE VIDEOS, RESOURCES & RECOMMENDATIONS *NEW* Search Parts For Your Maytag Washer On RepairClinic Every Maytag appliance, including Oversize Capacity Plus and Quiet Plus appliances such as washers and dryers, is manufactured with a product label that displays details about the appliance such as its model and serial numbers. The model number is typically located on the top left corner of the label. Although the location of the product labels varies by appliance type and model, finding the model number for your Oversize Capacity Plus and Quiet Plus appliance shouldn't take long. Maytag only attaches the product label to certain areas of an appliance. *Open the lid on your Oversize Capacity Plus or Quiet Plus washer and look for the product label on the inside bottom right corner of the lid. *Check for the label behind the control panel on the top back of your washer. *Look on the back main portion of your washer, also known as the base frame, on the left.

I have a Maytag dependable care quiet pack 2 speed super capacity 9 cycle Model No. LAT9416AAE

It is possible that you need a new timer which is a part number: 22003362 and is usually about $75-$100 but it is also possible that one of the components of the knob is not functioning properly. The best bet is to take the knob apart (make sure the arrow points to a wash cycle first) and then pull up on the time timer shaft itself. If the washer starts then you know its one of the components of the knob that when bad. If it doesn't then you know you need a timer.

I have maytag jet clean quiet plus II model mbd6000aww. The jets are not spinning and the water is not spraying. I was hoping to get some DIY assistance. Thank you. Jennifer

The most common thing I've seen causing this is when the holes in the spray arms ore clogged. Take the spray arms off and check the holes carefully for debris and clean out whatever you find.

Your dishwasher was manufactured in November of 1986. Uh...its actually 23 years old, which could be why I had a hard time locating a manual for you. I was able to find a manual at the following link:

http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search_results.jsp?searchTerm=MDB6000AWW&siteCd=MT_EN_US#owners_manuals

There's an Owner's Manual and Installation guide listed.
