Water does not come into the softener section on the last rinse or the overflow holes are clogged or electric valve for rinse is faulty. My experience is that in over 95% of cases mechanical failure because some residues or deposited calcium carbonate at the water inlet holes (water inlet holes clogged above softener compartment).

Our Electrolux ewf14742 washing machine still has - softener-wg0wow5i3e4kaqo3ix5u5knu-3-0.png Practical advice:
- If required, pour fabric softener into the compartment marked
(the amount used must not exceed the "MAX" mark in the
drawer). Otherwise, softener could be takes in washing or prewashing phase what can cause stains on laundry depending on temperature. (Especially in washing phase at 60-90 Celsius)
- If you use thick softeners it is recommended to dilute with water.
- After washing cycle finish, residues of detergent, softener and water may remain in the dispenser. It is recommended to clean
the dispenser regularly to remove any residue.

SOURCE: Fabric softener compartment problem.

I have this problem as well.. All washing machines manufactured nowadays are energy effficient, which means that they don't use as much water as the older models. This can result in a build-up of bacteria in the top part of the washing machine, which is clogging up the bit where the water comes through to flush the fabric conditioner into the drum. What I have to do every so often, is to take the top off the washing machine and clean out the layer of black slime that has built up, blocking the holes where the water goes into the washing machine. Another contributory factor is that the usual program used is a 40 degree wash, which is not hot enough to completely flush the machine through. Manufacturers recommend running a 90 degree wash once a month with just washing powder in iit, no clothes. Hope this is some help

SOURCE: AEG Lavamat 72640 Front Load Washer

are the holes that spray out the water partially blocked? if so the water will spray out at every angle filling all the tray slots. try popping out the soap tray and cleaning above it with a stiff washing up brush and then reducing the water pressure by turning the tap off a bit.

SOURCE: Washing machine does not take fabric softner

Obstruction, please take the whole soap compartment out and do better job with old tooth brush on the compartment in the sink and the machine itself. Should do it unless you live in very cold environment.

SOURCE: Washing machine will not complete spin cycle

OK, what you are experiencing is a timer mechanism fault. the timer motor is malfunctioning. anytime you have to manually advance the timer knob, this will signal a fault within the control mech. this is easily fixed by, replacing the timer control module. i will place a link to the actual part needed to fix this issue. you can also purchase this timer on line at this site if you wish.

I have a kenmore elite. My softener compartment and occasionally the soap compartment is full of water after a load.

Fabric softeners can coagulate and clog hose. Try pouring hot water into compartment, with washer empty, to clear hose.

After wash was completed, there are water sitting in fabric softener tray up to the full line

Hello Warren, thank you for your post!
From what you have described there is water filling up the fabric softener tray in your Electrolux washer, EWFLS70JSS. At times water will fill into your fabric softener due to draining and siphoning action however, this is a normal operation within your washer. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Ihave an electrolux ewf14742 when putting load of washing on it will go for a while then just stop time reverts back to starting time & door unlocks even though drum is full of water. No error message

I assume that your appliance has a door interlock with 4-contact.
This is "Instantaneous door interlock" and with this safety device, the door can be opened immediately after the end of the cycle.
Before pulses are sent to open the door, the PCB checks for the following conditions:
  • The drum must be stationary (no signal from the tachometric generator)
  • The water level must not be higher than the upper edge of the door
  • The temperature of the water must not be higher than 40 ° C.

The conditioner isn't going through my machine

Clean conditioner compartment as you can see on bottom picture.
Be sure to read the instructions of the manufacturer of conditioner. Some manufacturers supply concentrated softener which should be diluted with water (is too dense and can clog small drain tube in softener compartment). Also make sure you do not fill up over sign MAX., otherwise softener may leak in drum before starting the washing machine.

Softener wont add

Please ensure the machine is turned off at the power socket before you do anything.
Have you tried removing the draw? If you pull the draw out on most washers and slightly tilt the draw up and then try and pull further out the draw will come out. (DO NOT USE BRUT FORCE) if it doesn't come out easily then it probably isn't designed to.
If you get the draw out give it a really good wash in hot soapy water, the compartment where the softener goes normally as a piece of plastic that lifts up so you can clean the compartment throughly. Whilst the draw is out also give the inside of the draw compartment a clean out. (PLEASE ENSURE THE POWER IS OFF) Just for safety.
Once you have cleaned the draw replace it and try a full wash and see if that cleared the problem.1_15_2013_10_08_16_pm.jpg

I have an Aqualux 1200 washer/dryer. After the wash cycle the fabric conditioner compartment of the tray is full of water and the fabric conditioner appears not to have been flushed into the machine

If the dispensers are in their proper spot it is normal for some water to be left in the fabric softener dispenser. When you add your softener add water to dilute it as some softeners are very thick and don't dissolve well especially in cold water
