Toro 20067, just replaced the traction cable and now when pulling the mower backwards I feel some drag or binding. The cable appears to flex.

SOURCE: Replace the cable traction (part #105-1844)

I just replaced mine and it was a little difficult and took me roughly an hour to do. First, download the walk behind power mover drive systems at https://homeownersolutions.toro.com/portal/server.pt?space=CommunityPage&cached=true&parentname=CommunityPage&parentid=1&in_hi_userid=30166&control=SetCommunity&CommunityID=225&PageID=30031#manualsResultPage

While they do not specifically address replacing the cable, you can find out how they do it when replacing the drive belt. As I said, it took me about an hour and I just about had to remove the transmission and rear drive assembly in order to unhook the original cable. Good luck!

How is the traction cable adjusted on Toro Model 20027, Serial # 20005663. I'm replacing the cable and the new one is slightly different from the old one, but the Toro shop tells me it's the proper...

There is a large black plastic nut at the end where the cable attaches to the mower transmission. Turning it clockwise tightens the cable (engaging traction bar is tighter) and counter-clockwise is loosening the drive. If the cable is a little too long, you have to tighten it more.

I have ordered and received a new traction cable for my Toro Recycler Lawn Mower. However, no instructions. How do I attach this cable so that the mower is once again self propelled?

That can be a tough one the cable that houses the throat cable is the secret to make it work. Look at your old cable and make sure it is in stalled in the same position and work backwards until it works . If the cable is not adjusted right you can not get full power.

How to replace a Broken choke cable on zero turn toro

at the carburetor there should be a 5?16 bolt that hold that end on. under the panel there should be a 9?16 or 1?2 nut that holds that end on. take the bolt out and unhook the end at the carburetor and the nut under the panel. replace in opposite order. just don't get the cable in a bind or it may be hard to pull.

Toro rear drive personal pace, hard to pull backwards

Check drive cable for proper routing and kinking. Replace cable if bad. Check end of cable where connected to drive assembly ensure area is cleaned out of obstructions. If cable has stretched over time replacement is required.

Cable traction needs adjusted

To adjust the self propel cable, loosen the cable
clamp, pull the cable downward to remove all the slack
then push the cable jacket up 1/8”
and secure with the cable clamp
good luck
