LCD screens are monolithic (one piece) components. They cannot be repaired, they can be replaced. One site I found for replacement info is http://www.screentekinc.com, they even have DIY info if you are so inclined. There are many other sites; do a search on "lcd repair"

SOURCE: Screen is cracked when TV is turned on. HELP PLEASE

Most likely is the LCD panel hit by something and damaged. It possible costs you more to fix it than to buy a new one.

SOURCE: cracked inner screen

I had one broken a few months ago. I got a couple quotes.. it was about $200 less then a brand new one. I'd just buy a new one.
For the new TV I'd pickup a screen protector for it. My son threw a toy at my TV the other day and I nearly had a heart attack from the flashbacks. Thank God I picked up one of these a few weeks earlier. It stopped it. LCD screens really break easily as you know. http://www.tv-armor.com

SOURCE: Panasonic LCD TV with cracked screen

Sorry, not repairable, because the LCD,PLasma, and DLP screen are limited produced.Replacing the tv pannel screen will cost the same as a new tv.Might even cost more after the labors. The tvs screen is about 90% of the tv,that why when is broken or damage, now it only use for it electronics boards parts,or sell for it electronics boards parts that it.

Testimonial: "thanks for the info....will have to scrap the TV for parts only. You've been helpful. Now I know what decision to make. Have a great day."

Can you fix this cracked screen problem on Vizio VW42LFHDTV10A? and no sound?

We used to say have a short service on the patio and buy a new set---damaged panel display unit is more than set cost (if it is even available)
Let it go---when damaged it can instantly damage other boards/parts in the set.

Run a car with no oil and see what happens........

Crack beneath screen

I hate to bring bad news but it's better cruel truth than sweet lie.
You got so-called "physical damage" of your LCD panel. Surface that you can touch and one that looks intact is just a protective layer. Behind it is fragile class of LCD panel. Sometimes kids tap toy into the screen and parents later guessing what's wrong with TV.
No manufacturer (that covers first 12 months) or extended warranty will cover this repair. Technician will show up for free of charge, take a pictures of the screen and leave you with this problem. Whole LCD panel have to be replaced and part alone could cost up to 80% of cost of new TV.
Unless you can prove that this is shipping damage (I doubt it because it is not that you calling retailer very next day after purchase) - there is nothing that you can do to get out of this situation cheaply.
Still you need to call manufacturer customer service and have technician from authorized service center to show up and inspect it. Maybe we both wrong and you have a case of defective panel. Really hard to determine without seeing pictures of how your LCD looks like.
Sorry again and good luck!
Russ.

Picture has blue, green, and red phantom lines on the screen

Sounds like a convergence problem. Are you interested in fixing this yourself? If so you will need to know how to solder well and use a meter. I can assist you as much as you need through the process. If you post a picture of what the screen looks like we can know for sure what you have going on. If you call a repairman to fix it he will charge somewhere between $300-$500 to do the repair. Let me know if you need more help!

HP-T4254 Samsung Plasma - Cracked Screen

This appears to be more common than Samsung lets people know. There isobviously a manufacturing defect. Same thing happened to my tv and it was only 4 months old. Samsung refuses to honor their warranty claiming it's physical damage...no kiding...there was a pop like a small firecracker going off inside the TV and the screen broke. You think think with this kind of catostrophic failure there would be physical damage? We're going after Samsung (BBB, FTC, small claims, etc.), if we can get enough people maybe go class-action.
