Does anyone have a manual for the Radio Shack / Tandy / Micronta 63-3002 metal detector?

I was out at event with my Nokta Legend at the weekend!

My first detector was a Radio shack in 1988. I think it had three dials, one for Volume, one for Sensitivity, and finally one for Discrimination, Ferrous one way, Non Ferrous the other and All Metal around the 12 o'clock mark. And the Red Button in the handle tip.

There isn't a manual available, but this post explains what the red button does and sounds the equivalent of Ground Balance / EMI Cancellation to zero the meter.

Radio Shack Metal Detector 63-3007. Looking for manual please?

I started metal detecting on a Radio Shack detector. Now I have a Garret Ace 400i and am about to upgrade to a Nokta Legend.

There are various models here but not the 3007. Also click on the images tab. They all run to a similar theme and the Bounty Hunter range are clones if you can find one with the same controls

Can brass be detected with a metal detector?

Non-Ferrous metal is non-magnetic metals that copper, aluminum, brass, lead, etc. It will take approximately 50% more of a non-ferrous metal to be as detectable as a ferrous metal. Manganese is also a non-ferrous metal and difficult for most metal detectors to detect. Expended brass rounds should be quite easy to find with just about any inexpensive detector. Try your local on Radio Shack, they usually have Bounty Hunter machines in stock. Brass shell casings ejected and laying in the grass should send a loud, easy to pinpoint signal. I have been fortunate in being witness to the volunteer honor guard at Camp Butler National Cemetery on several occasions over the years so I feel compelled to say "Thank You" for your dedication and patriotism for our fallen military brethren, new and old alike.
