I have a Generac 5000 Watt Power Plus Mod-00413-0 Does this have an oil filter and if so wich one do i need ?!?

Regarding the advice about "Flashing" a generator.
Do you people even know what that means?

What you are doing is messing with the capacitor that is part of the voltage conversion. Likely you are burning any shorts out of the capacitor. Has noting to do with the fields or coils or rectifier.

So if you are having issues then test the capacitor and replace it.
Try your flashing and see if you don't fry the rectifier.

It amazes me that people will blindly follow something they don't understand "hoping" that something good will happen.

But if a new generator is what you want then give your old one away instead of trashing it.

I am trying to find the exhaust manifold or whatever the pipe is that comes out of the generator and connects to the muffler tube, I have a generac np50g, any ideas where i can find it?

WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD put your hand on the muffler. Where the exhaust comes out is the rear of the muffler. Now go to the front of the muffler. The pipe that goes in is the one you are looking for. Keep following that pipe along until it joins the body of the motor, and you have found what you are looking for. Please rate this answer.

I have a 3250 watt Kingcraft generator that won't

Always troubleshoot with new sparkplug. Remove the oil sending unit connection from the coil. The coil should work without any wires connected. Usually the only connections are oil sending unit that will short to ground when low oil condition and other wire must be kill wire to on/off switch. Use carb cleaner spray directly into the carb with air filter removed and choke off as fuel supply. Just a short spray and another short spray after a couple of pulls. If engine wants to start you will need to keep spraying cleaner for engine to continue to run. If engine wants to run, replace fuel with couple gallons of premium fuel to get it going. Hotter fuel will help if the compression is low. Good luck

What is the fuel capacity of the Briggs and Stratton 5550 watt generator and what type of motor oil does it neet?

Hello, probably a really good guess is 2 1/2 to 3 gals. Oil type I would use cleaing additive multi-temperatur 10/15 or 10/20 well know brank. Synethic oil I don't know how well does it work in an air cool engine. GB...stewbison

Generac home generator does not start. It starts alittle bit but then dies. Maybe runs for 4-6 seconds

is this unit diesel or gas? If its gas driven, the carburetor needs to be removed and cleaned out. Also make sure your gas is fresh. If not drain fuel tank, remove carb, clean out, re-assemble & test. Check fuel filter, oil level.

Generac NP 50G Stops after 2-30min.

check the oil sensor circuit. I know when I take out or short out the sensor ckt on mine, it'll keep on running. low oil isn't good for any motor.

Start runs shutsdown

Typically caused by the fuel line (LP or Natural Gas) having a lot of air in it. Was your generator just installed, or was there any work done to the gas line of the building / generator? Consult local gas contractor / propane dealer / gas company for assistance in purging the fuel line.

A low battery can also cause this as well as the generator is not able to come up to starting speed quick enough. Try placing a stand alone battery charger on the generator and charge the battery. Also check the air filter as well.

OverCrank condition occurs when generator tries to start itself, or be manually started, and the starter spends too much time turning.

This can also indicate failure of the control board. This will need the expertise of generac technician. Call 1-888-GENERAC (1-888-436-3722)
