My LG portable AC 8000 btu w/ window exhaust is not cooling as weel as last year. Only two years old. I've done everything the manual said. How can I get someone to check it?

how old is old? google can fail on things easy 10 years old

they will ask you what country but not told you.

year 2002! Btu's are 5000 to 7000 & the other one is 8000 to 12000 btu, it depends on what size air cond. you have, below is two links one is owners manual, the other is installation manual, hope this helps!!!

Do you hear compresser start up noise. If so then please check it with a clamp meter and Amperage the Unit is drwing. If it is less than 8-9 Amps than there is some leakage in the AC and all the collent has leaked. So you got to get it serviced.

sometimes storing an AC for long periods of time will allow the coolant that it uses to seep out, leaving you with an AC that seems to work, but won'tr cool any air. If you have a user's manual (or can find one) check to see what type of coolant it uses (if it's freon or something else) and if you can refill it. If you can refill the coolant, that should resolve your problem ... if not, you might be able to take it to a repair shop and have them do it for you. Good luck!

Check filter, if you have a 5000BTU unit (small) and it is extremely hot, then it wont work great for a big room. BTU is the rate of what the AC will put out. 5000 BTU is good for a small single room. 10,000 will cool a bigger room and 18,000 btu is meant to cool a home.

either going off on low charge which would cause it to ice up, which means you need refrigerant. or high head pressure might just have to clean the coils or check condensor fan.

Compressor may be locking up. Run capacitor may be weak or loose wire. Sounds like major voltage drop off as unit head pressure increases.
