most of the time this happened to me, I noticed I knocked one of the ones next to it slightly loose. Just check and make sure they are all seated fully.

SOURCE: printing partial photo

You have answered questions regarding people who have photo printers. The questions asked are based on thermal transfer image printers, not bubble jet as your answers seem to be based on. FYI if people are having issues with their thermal printers, particularly with pictures printing, "Printing" partial pages, how in the world could you deduce that there is a driver issue? You've been more harmful than helpful. If for some reason there is "No" printing being done, then sure 25% of the problem could be drivers or firmware issues. However if it all of a sudden happens, then we have to think of it like a chain on a bicycle suddenly
breaking. Which in this case has a percentage of 50% or greater being the problem.
The lucky ones, (those w/ mechanical aptitude) can simply open the printer and make the screw adjustment(don't get me wrong it's time consuming and tedious) but the unlucky ones will find a cracked gear assembly which depending on the seriousness may be able to be repaired with "Model Glue". The recommended action is to follow your warranty, should
you not have one, guess what, these models are no longer manufactured for this exact reason. Which is why Kodak changed the color to Black on the new ones. So remember, if you buy it on sale... You now have full experience as to why the item was on sale in the first place, same goes with Manufacturer coupons as well!!!! If you want an item to last you don't buy it on sale, that old wives tale of 'Overstocked Item' is a gimmick
and remember to follow the item you purchased at full price. If all of a sudden the items price drops to half price, contact the manufacture to find out why, you may have a hidden problem, and if you contact them inside your warranty range you stand a good chance of receiving a voucher for a replacement model to keep you from getting to the point you are in currently. Good luck, and remember if it's on sale, you should reconsider how long you are going to long you need the product before you buy

SOURCE: Won't recognise ink cartridges - shows as empty.

For all cartridge and ink problems, go to my site.

Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.

The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.

For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.

I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.

If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.

Happy trouble free printing

SOURCE: Samsung SPP-2040 Photo Printer

For me, alysse's method worked. The part did not look particularly broken, but was not firmly gripping the shaft. I moved it to where it should have been, tightened it as described, and now the printer works great again.

Are you sure that that cam is not slipping on the shaft?

Changed all my ink cartridges on astylus PHOTO R280 and now the print comes out with a green ting.

I suggest that you clean the inkhead with a wet paper cloth (just a little amount of warm water . enough to make the paper cloth wet).

Remember to remove the inkhead before wiping it with the paper cloth. After that, let it dry and put it back in. Try printing.

Ink not dry and significant smudging

there r various modes in the printer in which u have to print .and that u have to select.as you said it is printing properly on ordinary paper.the printer is perfect.the photo paper have less soaking power that ordinary paper.as the photo paper can consume ink but not so quickly as ordinary paper.
u just change that printmode and then check out how it prints.
for example the modes r ----------best mode printing.
better mode printing.
fine mode printing
normal mode printing.
draft mode printing
economy mode printing.
now i f u print in best mode it will consume lots of ink but will take lots of time to print.
if u select normal mode it will consume less ink and print quickly.

u can change the settings in printer properties.
thanks

Canon i550 has has rainbow line in output

Even though you say you have ink, the "rainbow" line is usually an ink problem. Try doing a head clean process.

Right-mouse click on the printer and bring up "Properties". There should be a 'Maintenance" tab and one or more cleaning options and/or nozzle checks.

Black cartridge not printing

This is what worked (so far) with my Dell1.gif AIO A940 printer1.gif that wouldn't print black ink.

It worked for awhile when I chose photo/glossy paper, but then it quit printing again (see below).

PRINT, PROPERTIES, PAPER SETUP, SPECIALTY PAPER, PHOTO/GLOSSY

I got it to print, again, by putting SEVERAL papers in the feeder (instead of just 1) - there is a sensor that is supposed to automatically detect paper type, and it might not be working right, especially with one or only a couple of sheets.

Ink won't dry

Unless the problem coincides with a change in ink cartridge, my guess is an incompatibility between the ink and the paper. Could you have changed the paper you're printing on. If so, is the new paper of a different quality? If you're using coated (eg photo) paper, are you printing on the right side? Check the "paper quality" setting on the printer (or the software you're using to drive it) - it needs to match the specification of the stuff you're printing onto. Photo quality papers are capable of absorbing much more ink than plain paper (which is how you get the colour intensity). If the printer thinks it's using photo paper, it will throw out enough ink to get that colour build - leaving a sticky mess if what is really loaded is just plain paper. A.
