Hunter Engineering Company's CodeLink® steering angle sensor reset tool plugs into a vehicle's OBD-II port.

There should be a tiny unmarked hole in the front of the thermostat....if so, the thermostat 'reset' micro-switch should be under that hole. Gently stick a thin toothpick inside to depress the switch and get ready to operate it manually.

If there is no hole, separate the thermostat from its sub-base and look closely at the sub-base for a reset button.

My Hunter 44860 is doing this also. It started on Nov. 1, 2009. It also displays the day of the week as "SUNDAYAY" when it hangs. I believe this is a firmware problem with older stock. Unfortunately I bought it from Lowes this fall and lost the receipt. I am going to try to return it to Hunter Fan Co for an exchange.

Where are the wires connected in the heater ? They should be on R and W, if the W is on C you are shorting the heat anticipator in the thermostat. If the unit is wired right look for a spot where the wire is rubbed thru and touching the metal housing of the heater.

hunter thermostats are not the highest quality. on the back of the thermostat there should be a not well identified reset button. You can locate and push this to attempt to fix the problem. Or purchase a new (i would suggest Robertshaw or braeburn) thermostat and install.

By resetting I found out that there was low battery, but now I can't get the face of the thermostat off to put in a new battery. Manual got displaced.

try to reset. if doesn't work properly, repalce the thermostat.

There is a little reset button right under DAY/TIME. You will need a pencil/pen tip to press this little switch in to reset your unit.
