Model 3221 manual it works except for one-of-my-disc it will recognize it & spin. but no sound??

Check if you can hear the xbox disc drive spin up when you insert a disc to make sure the drive isn't broken. If it spins up but can't recognize the disc, try using a friends disc that you know works in his xbox. If his disc works and yours does not, try getting a disc cleaner found in most Best Buy or other disc/electronics stores. If that does not work you will most likely have to contact Microsoft Support to send the xbox in for repairs to the drive.

The problem sounds like the spindle motor is about to go out completely. If a disc does not spin or does not spin at it's proper speed the optical lens reading laser can not read the disc and you get a "no disc", or "disc not recognized" error message. On average a dvd will spin 3 times faster than a regular cd will. The following pictures will show you what these components look like.




Check around your local area to find what a service technician will charge to replace the part. On average it will usually cost between $60-90 dollars most of which is labor.

Listen to see if you hear the drive in ipod spinning. Not clicking, you should hear a wirling sound.
if no, bad drive.

According to the operation manual for this model, DL (dual-layer) discs are not mentioned, so your unit may not be able to record or play that type of disc.

Of course, if you are using BLANK dual layer discs which have not been recorded or formatted on any other device, and the LG isn't recognizing them, then the disc type is probably not compatible with your model. It's likely to be a design limitation specific to this model; not necessarily a fault.

This is fairly common, it means the actual DVD drive has failed. You will need to call Nintendo. There is a good chance it is still under warranty and they will fix it for free. Their number is 1-800-255-3700

Check to make sure that the speakers are pluged in in the back and that you are not using a re-writeable disc.

Get a 2 gig sd card Go to http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2253809 once done go to the wii options menu then data management click on a gamesave and you will have the option to copy then just repeat for each game and you should be good (except for the $250 peice of plastic) Sorry hope u get a new one!!

I have the very same issue. The dvd player makes a clicking sounds, spins, then stops...no disc. I have tried cleaning it and have also tried new dvds.
