If the water is on, then the next thing in line is the water valve. Either bad or a bad contact. If not then the control is bad.

I'm sure you disrupted the sequencing! If its full of water, drain it. If its got no water in it, then manually fill it! This should get you back into sequence and up and running.

Basically the dishwasher is telling you there is a fault - Not so useful I know! Plug out the machine and leave it for five minutes and see will it reset. If that does not work, you will need to reset it manually. To do this consult the manual. If you don't have a manual, go to http://www.hotpointservice.co.uk/hs/pages/manual/manualSearch.do and down load one. Good luck!

Not sure if you have got a user manual for this dishwasher. You can download one from this site.

You have a flood situation inside the dishwasher. See page 12 of the manual. There may be no water at the bottom of the machine but there is some overfill occuring. Also see error codes on page 13. This can be either because the flood detection circuit is faulty and giving false trigger or there is water in the base of the dishwasher housing due to leaking door gasket or hoses.

Some things to try. Turn mains power off and back on and see if there is any difference.
If not, then turn power off and pull dishwasher out from the kitchen benchtop. Put a few towels on the floor and tilt the dishwasher side to side on the base and see if any water comes out. Wait 5-6 minutes and turn power back on. See if it makes any difference.

usually, open and close door..then start counting the flashes. these will give you your fault code. The code then tells us where to go from there. off hand, i would say you have a heater problem.. Either, the water is not getting hot enough because of a faulty heater, or faulty thermostat. The button above the green light that flashes try and hold that down for a minute to reset....let me know about the flashes
