If you have a build up of paint clean it with laquior thinner its a simple seal and it never wares out Ihave these guns that are 20 years old and the olny time i ever had a problem with this seal was when i used a torch to clean the gun before rebuilding it So keep it clean and you could use it every day and rebuild it every 5 years
