Is the device that lowers or raises the loader a hydraulic piston type device, or more of a hydrostatic type device? Whining noises are not uncommon with hydrostatic devices...

Sounds like you need more hydraulic oil - Or like you said the transmission screen (dirty).

Hello Sam;
I cannot find anything by Deere (probably an efco 152) about your saw. Oregon does list some particulars here:
Oregon Bar & Chain Selector
http://www.oregonchain.com/pro/lookups/selguide.aspx?BusId=OCS&SellReg=USA&LangId=ENG
I input:
John Deere; CS52; *see below; All (0.325"); All (0.050"); All (yours is likely green - low kickback).
*16" - 66 drive links (the part that fits in the bar).
*18" - 72 drive links.
If your saw does not use either 66 or 72 drive links I suspect the bar, drive sprocket, or drive sprocket and bar nose in use are not what the the saw was originally supplied with. Any local chainsaw seller/mechanic given your chain as a pattern can fabricate one in about 5 minutes. Often a local chain is less expensive (no shipping).
If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

Apparently you have a short in the starting circuit. I would try disconnecting the start wire from the solenoid, and see if it still blows fuse. If it does it's in the control circuit. If not it's the starter solenoid.
There should be an operator present switch under the seat, that sometimes short out from an accumulation of dirt and debris that get moist.There is also a neutral safety switch and/or relays.
SOURCE: Why is the hydraulic hose
Im not sure what hose it is but my loader started doing that, ive only owned it a few months. The parts guys and mechanics at jd figured it was the accumulator for the brakes that was sticking and letting off, the hoses that went along the right side of the engine would jump every 4 seconds orso and the tranny cooler lines would jump as well. Not sure if thats the same problem as you have but i thought it was worth a try.
