SOURCE: am reception

I've used this radio for years.  It's a direct replacement for Porsche cars up to about 1998.  Installation is easy and make sure to get the iPod connection cable.  It's an assessory.
About AM yes there's the 9kHz vs 10KHz, but frankly here in LA it gets better AM reception than the JBL in my new Prius.  The only problem is you can't buy it in NA.  Getting it from the EU is a pain.  But it's worth it

SOURCE: 97 mitsubishi bad radio reception

It sounds like you are just in a weak reception area. If you feel this is not the case first try replacing the entire antenna assembly, it would be the primary cause of this type of problem.

Does not pick up standard channels for recording let alone digital channels

Are you trying to pick up standard analog channels (the kinds that have a fuzzy gray screen when there's no signal)? Those stopped functioning in 2009 when the nation ended the analog broadcast. You can only get digital channels now, except for a low-power broadcast station here and there. Nowadays for analog, TVs mostly pick up only radio stations.

Why won't FM radio work on the Motorola 6310 two-way radio?

Hi,

It's a two way communications radio, not a broadcast radio, hence it won't receive FM/AM broadcast radio stations.

You should not confuse the two as they work on different radio bands, most FM broadcast radios are on the 86-108MHz bands, whereas two way radios operate on the following bands:
1-86MHz, 108-174MHz, 220-520MHz & 865-920MHz

I don't know which band your radio works on, but not broadcast bands I'm sure.

The only exception to this is the smaller hand helds, which may have FM broadcast programmed, but if this is the case with yours, This issue is out of the realm of two way radio queries, as Broadcast radio is not two way radio, but one way radio, and I'm not competent enough to answer Broadcast radio issues.

How do I stop my MG100HDFX from picking up radio stations........I CANT PLAY LIKE THAT!!!!!

Have you changed out your guitar cable? Also, if you have a broadcast antenna close to your practice area, that could be your problem. Try moving your amp to another location and see what happens. If it picks up stations at different locations that are miles apart, call Marshall...the amp is defective.

How canifixmyscanner,it scansbut doesnt pick up program stations

You didn't provide the make or model of your scanner, or any real specifics on your problem, but your first step is to make sure that you've programmed active frequencies into it. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, and a lot of other useful scanning information, visit:
www.RadioReference.com

For a functional check, you should first program and scan NOAA weather frequencies to verify whether or not the scanner is working properly. Many scanners have a WEATHER or WX band function that will let you check the NOAA broadcasts without any programming. If your scanner does not pick up the weather broadcasts you may have an antenna problem or an electronic problem that will require professional repair.

Installation of XM radio.

Depends if you are using an aux cable to plug it directly into the front of the cd player, then no you don't, or if you use casette hookup you don't. If you are trying to tune it through the radio station you may have to, they do broadcast through the air but if it's a newer model within the last few years the siginal isn't hardly strong enough but may still work you can try it , the older ones had stronger signals and you didn't have to, They started making them weaker so they would not broadcast into your house so they could make more money selling the home docking units for them.

Storing the strongest broadcast
frequencies
BSM (best stations memory) lets you automatically
store the six strongest broadcast frequencies.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select BSM in
the function menu.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn BSM on.
The six strongest broadcast frequencies are
stored in the order of their signal strength.
# To cancel, press MULTI-CONTROL again.
Tuning in strong signals
Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those
radio stations with sufficiently strong signals
for good reception.
% Press LOCAL repeatedly to select the
desired setting.
FM: OFF—LEVEL1—LEVEL2—LEVEL3—
LEVEL4
MW/LW: OFF—LEVEL1—LEVEL2
The LEVEL4 setting allows reception of only
the strongest stations, while lower settings let
you receive progressively weaker stations.

You can also perform this operation in the menu
that appears by using MULTI-CONTROL.
Selecting alternative frequencies
When the tuner cannot get a good reception,
the unit automatically searches for a different
station in the same network.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select AF in the
function menu.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn AF on.
# To turn off, press MULTI-CONTROL again.

! Only RDS stations are tuned in during seek
tuning or BSM when AF is on.
! When you recall a preset station, the tuner
may update the preset station with a new frequency
from the station’s AF list. No preset
number appears on the display if the RDS
data for the station received differs from that
of the originally stored station.
! During AF search, sound may be temporarily
interrupted.
! AF can be turned on or off independently for
each FM band.

Picking up tv station

Yes, lock out the frequency, or wait until digital broadcast comes int effect. DTV will be effective in 2009 where all television broadcasts must be done by cable or satellite. This means no antenna broadcasts.
