Could be a blown capacitor. If you're electronically inclined. Unplug the TV and remove the back plastic cover. Look on the circuit board for and bulging capacitors. Or little black spots near leads. If you find something like that. you will need to disolder the component and install a new one. I fixed a Panasonic that had a similar issue.

Call Sony so they can fix it. This sounds like multiple problems. Good luck.
SOURCE: power button is green - no blinks / no picture / no sound
Unplug it from the wall, wait 2 minutes and plug it back in. if problem still exists, its probably the main pcb.

Rowdyroddy,
Thanks you so much for this info.
I had the same problem with my Sony KW-57wv600. Blue screen turns black after a few seconds, and then standby light flashes seven times.
I called a local TV technician, and described problem. I was told it would not be cost effective to fix. After reviewing the "simple" instructions given on www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html I figured I had nothing to lose.
10 minutes to remove front panel, a "very slight" turn of a screw, and TV worked again perfectly. I could not believe it!
Thank you so much for your help!
SHAME ON SONY FOR NOT POSTING THIS FIX ON THEIR WEBSITE! SHAME ON THE TECHNICIAN AT SONY WHICH INSISTED A SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS REQUIRED.
I have always been a fan of Sony, swearing by Sony products exclusively. After this experience, I am now forced to consider some other options when purchasing electronics in the future.

7 times mean no horizontal deflection. So check horizontal output an solder of it and associate parts.Often resistor and transfo driver of base of h. output.
