Does the presser foot move at all when the machine is first turned on?
Do the needle and feed teeth calibrate when the machine is first turned on?
You probably need to locate your nearest authorized repair center.

If you are getting power and not sewing, it sounds like a bad foot control. (you don't need the entire power cord assembly). These are fairly easy to replace and can be found in most local sewing shops or places like ebay. To replace it your self, simply remove the old one and get a carbon style controller, slide the wires through the hole in the side and connect one wire to each screw, it does not matter which wire goes to which screw. Put the bottom cover back on and you should be good to go.

There may be dust/lint interfering with the electronics that communicate with each other to let the machine know that the feet are down. Most companies DO NOT recommend using the spray air. What you can do is use the brush that came with the machine and clean the interior parts that you can easily reach. Get the bristles of the brush into the area where the presser foot lifter is located. While raising and lowering the lifter, gently sweep the bristles out toward you. This should dislodge lint particles. You'll also want to gently brush out the bobbin case and the area around the feed dogs. Generally, when I have a situation where I think it might be caused by dust and lint, I clean in every area I can reach! You can also use a cotton swab to assist in the cleaning. Once you've gotten out all the dust you can see or reach, you can use a crevice tool attachment on your vacuum to make sure you have it all removed. I also purchased one of those sets of small vacuum tools for use, not only on my sewing machines, but computer as well. It will provide suction to interior areas that you might not be able to reach without disassembling the machine. I really hope this solves your problem. As a serious sewer I know how frustrated you are. If my solutions get you sewing again, please let Fixya know by rating my solution!

yes, it is possible that the foot pedal can go out,, it would be a good
idea to have the foot pedal checked at a repair shop to see for
sure
