Are you looking set the eye relief or the focus ring?

For eye relief you need to loosen the scope in the rings, mount the rifle to your shoulder with your standard hold and cheek weld. At this point, slide the scope back and forth in the rings until you obtain a full field of view. Tighten one of the rings slightly, dismount and remount the rifle several times to ensure correct adjustment. Level scope and tighten rings a final time.

For focus adjustment (remember that you are using the eyepiece to focus on the cross hair, not your target!) loosen the lock ring and turn the eyepiece until the cross hair is focused. It is best if you check it several times by closing and opening your eye several times. The crosshair should be instantly in focus. If your eye must adjust, then you need to refocus until the focus is instant.

The two dials on the scope are for adjusting the bullet point of impact. They will typically move POI 1/4 inch at 100 yards.

If you know about area formulas of class 8 and 9,please solve my question?there is a circle.in the between of the circle, there is a rectangle of dimension 4cm and 3cm.if the rectangle will cut out what...

The diameter of the circle is the diagonal of the rectangle use Pythagoras this rectangle is a made from two 3,4,5 triangles, so the diameter is 5cm, the radius will be 2.5cm don't forget the BODMAS ordering rule (Brackets of Division Multiplication Addition and Subtraction) Also rounding to 2 decimal places. This solution is based on all four corners of the rectangle touching the circumference of the circle.

Area of a circle is P (22/7) i x Radius (squared ^2) ====> 22/7 x 2.5cm ^ 2 ====> 22/7 x 6.25cm

TOTAL AREA of CIRCLE = 19.64 cm^2

Area of the rectangle is length x width ====> 4 cm x 3 cm

TOTAL AREA of RECTANGLE = 12 cm ^2

The remaining portion is the circle area minus the rectangle 19.64-12 = 7.64 cm^2

I have lost the screw in piece on the adjusting ring of my 3 x 9 1965 tasco scope.it was around 1/2 inch long

I would take the scope to a hardware store.I know that Ace has all kinds of machine screws with different diameters, lengths, thread counts, machine screws wood screws, metric, standard, etc. and try to find the right one that seems to fit best.If you have to have it mounted, just leave the gun in the car and bring it out to experiment to make sure you have the right one.Your only other alternitative is to order one from the manufacturer.A hardware store should have one that should fit though and if you find out it isn't the exact one,you can exchange/return.I do basically the same thing for appliances,a couple of screws for a car.Lowes and Home Depot make you buy packages of more screws than 1,so if you find one at a hardware store that works, you may want to go to one of those 2 to buy a package of them in case it happens again but make sure to get the right specs.(length, thread count, diameter). If you want to contact the maker it will probably cost like $3-5 to ship so it's up to you. Good luck and happy hunting!Greg

Trying to identify older tasco telescope and put it together

There are only two types of telescopes --- REFRACTORS, and REFLECTORS-

The refractor has a lens on the front of the tube and you insert different eyepieces in the back-- the larger the number written on the eyepiece the LOWER the magnification-- (DO NOT USE THE 2x or 3x barlow which you may have!-- this creates too much power for this small telescope!-- put it away and never use it!)

A reflector has a main mirror on the bottom of the tube, and a small secondary mirror under the eyepiece hole (focuser end) - front end-- put the lowest power eyepiece into the focuser.

Now with either type telescope go out side during the day and practice focusing on a distant object-- turn the knob SLOWLY. At night the moon should be the first target you try.

If you received what appears to be a smaller telescope -- that is the finder scope-- attach it to the top of the tube on the main telescope. Again during the day line up the small finder scope with the main scope-- look at a distant telephone pole (the very top-- and center this in the main telescope. Without moving the main scope use the finder scopes "screws" to adjust the cross hairs so they are pointing exactly where the main scope is pointed. Now you can use the small finder scope to point the telescope in the exact direction--

The moon should be your first night time target.

Good luck--

Caps will not screw off to adjust sights on scope

Many cap threads are reverse. try unscrewing the other direction. If this doesnt work my suggestion is to use physics to get it off.

Image a jar that is 1 litre with a lid that is 10 cm across. it takes x amount of force to unscrew that jar.
Now if that same jar has a lid that is 25 cm across there is a power advantage and a speed reduction.

Now to apply this to your thread caps. try adding layers of tape/cloth onto the thread caps to make it easier to unscrew.
