Disconnect all the rca cable and speaker wires if the protection light comes on again; if this dont work unplug the cable and connect speaker wires and see what happen;if this dont work check your speaker wires in the box.

SOURCE: I have a V 150 SE crunch amp. i have a red light

This more than likely means that you have a blown fuse. Go to an electronic store and replace the fuses. Make sure you get the exact same sizes and types that you had before.

SOURCE: crunch 1500 went into protect

Hi ,
"Protect"
is an error code for short and overload. Once the power applied to the unit and shorts sensed by the processor, the unit will automatically turned to "protect" to avoid further damaged to other parts. Most shorts is in the supply voltage (B+, Vcc) line and most common caused is the sound output IC (mounted in heat sink). This part is responsible for amplifying the audio from the pre-amplifier stage and will feed to your speakers.

If you have a knowledge in disoldering and soldering technique, I would advice you to pull-out this part and then try the unit. If the "Amp Grd" error code is gone then you must replaced this IC with a new one to back your unit in normal operation again.
Before that, try to isolate first the speakers, if you have a shorted one, same symptoms will be encounter. Disconnect all the speakers from the unit and turned it on naked. If the symptoms is gone, then check for shorted speakers.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

Protection light comes on , was only coming on when i turned up the stereo , now it stays on , all the wires are good and i cracked the amp open and nothing looks burnt

check your gain on your amp. If it gets hot the shuts off into protection mode you are over working your amp. Check to see the way your subs are wired up and see if your amp can handel the load.

My amplifier is not in protection mode everything works fine but my subwoofers play a very small sound . and it is not my subs at fault i already tested my subs and they work fine. i know theres a problem...

THERES A PROBLEM WITH YOUR RCA'S,IF YOU JIGGLE THEM WHILE THERE HOOKED UP TO THE AMP AND THEY MAKE THINGS LOUDER OR POP THAN YOU NEED TO GET THE RCA TERMINALS FIXED.

It's very likely that the output transistors have failed in the amp. They will need to be replaced.

Red LED "Protection Light is on" What is the problem

The red light means the amp is in protection mode. A few things can cause protection mode..... First disconnect the subs completely from the amp, and turn it on, if it powers up you have blown subs. Also try checking the main power wire at the battery...sometimes the current your meter is seeing is backfeeding from the remote wire, so your main power line could be blown at the fuse under the hood. hope this helps
