Lightning hit and our Panasonic Viera displayed, No signal. TV won't show networks, but Netflix and internet is still working. I'm not sure what part is messed up. The main board?

Ckexk that your aerial installation is not damaged, it is possible the cable is damaged. If you try another tvvon it an it does not work there is your fault. It may be that the tuner section has gone but I would definitely try the aerial as the first step to a diagnisis in this case

GOOD LUCK

Panasonic Plasma TC-50PU54 LF21030116 Power light blinks 8 times When I attempt to power on it turns on for split second then shuts down. Is this fixable? thanks.

Yes. It is probably a problem with the internal power circuitry. Look in the circuit board area where the power cord mates with it for capacitors that have bulging tops (instead of the flat tops that are normal). If you see even one, you need to replace all the large capacitors othe power supply section (normally around 5 or 6).

Try relocating the location of your antenna or changing the direction it is pointed. Once this is changed, select PROGRAM CHANNEL from the SETUP menu and set ANT IN to Antenna before selecting Auto to start the programming process.

I have cable and when i plug it into my tv i only

The tv will only process cable channels when set to 'ant cable' . After the scan, you should be able to view all channels provided on the frequency.
If you want more cable #'s, you will have to pay for those or get a cable box. If you don't find your local channels in the lineup, you will have to use a switcher, or hassle with unplugging and plugging the antenna. This is true for ATSC broadcasts. Please give feedback if this helps. Or tell me more.

How to get from standard TV to Cable TV?

Should use remote to bring up the menu. Go to channel search and it will ask you if for ant or cable. This is where you will select for antenna or cable.

I cannot record a show onto a blank vhs tape in my vcr??

Hi,

Initially, pls verify that the coaxial cable is connected to the ANT/Cable/RF IN of the VCR. Thereafter the built-in tuner of the VCR would be used to select the desired channel to be recorded. The VCR in turn maybe connected two (2) ways to the TV:
  • Audio/Video using yellow, red & white RCA cables/connectors using AV1 or Video1;
  • RF patch cord from RF OUT of VCR to ANT/Cable/RF IN of TV using either Channels 3 or 4.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
