How can I hook up speakers to a 13.3" skyworth tv that doesn't have a DVD player built in. I purchased the tv in 2011 while I was in prison. It's a hdtv flat screen.

You have to add the model number of you tv to get a better solution. Also you have to add some detailed about to which type of speaker do you prefer to connect the tv.

My skyworth 15.6in flat screen has been saying no signal

check the input selection on menu of tv, it may be trying to read dvd player without dvd inserted or another device connected to tv. also check to make sure cables are secure,. Most likely it is on wrong input.
