SOURCE: Won't Start & No glow Plug Light on Dash
I am with a similar problem...
After putting on a new sump i found that the starter motor would work cranking the engine but no power is going to the glow plugs. The light on the dash does not appear either.
The relay for the coils does click but that is the end of it. I have a suspission it is the imobiliser but after taking the battery on and off several times to reset... still nothing.
There is fuel, good battery (fully charged), fuel lines are clean pressurised...
Any ideas???

Hello,
You power issue is caused by a failure in the power supply board. We have an article posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/samsung-syncmaster-2053bw/ the repair requires replacing 8 capacitors that will need to be soldered on the board. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service, more information can be found here: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/service-request-form/
I hope this information is helpful to you, if so please rate our solution.

I just fixed my unit that had this same problem. You have to re-pair the two units... Turn the parent unit off. Hold the "volume down" button while you turn the parent unit back on. The unit should beep and flash all volume lights. Release the volume button and the press again for ~2 seconds. The volume lights will light up and stay on. Next, turn the nursery unit off and then back on. This should re-pair the two. I hope it fixes your problem!

Common problem is in the DC filter caps in the power supply circuits, that will be the first thing to look for first, please note that bad cap can look normal but can have high ESR. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.
