Here are some examples of plagiarism:

  • A writer decides that he wants to create an Internet website to generate ad revenue. Instead of writing his own articles, he visits twenty other websites that have articles on the topic in which he is interested. He copies each of the articles, changes the titles and the authors' names to his name and posts the articles on his own website.
  • An academic is expected to publish papers but he doesn't have time to research because of family obligations. He looks through old professional journals in another country and he copies a 10-year-old article from someone else in the field. He submits the article as his own and hopes that no one finds the article from which he copied.
  • A student is expected to write a book report about a book that his teacher has assigned. The student doesn't want to read the book and is bored with the subject. He visits websites that provide reviews and book reports and he copies from each of the different book reports to create one report of his own.
  • A student is expected to write a research paper on a topic in his history class. The student had a friend who took a similar class five years ago. The student asks his older friend for a copy of his paper and then takes the paper and passes it off as his own, turning it in to the teacher with his name on it.
  • A student takes a large block of text from a book and quotes it in his paper word-for-word. The student puts a footnote into the paper indicating where the text came from; but, the student does not give any indication in the text that he or she is quoting directly from the paper.

Plagiarism Can Be Just Changing Some Words:

Plagiarism does not have to be word-for-word plagiarism either. If you copy someone's ideas, paraphrase or simply change the words of existing text, you must provide proper attribution for the source of the ideas.

Have you ever bought papers from writers online? I need to write an essay for college but have no time to do it and consider buying it from online writer

Howard, I would consider that cheating and a loss of your integrity! What school do you go to, I would not hire any of there graduates knowing this is happening, There is enough time to do this, part of what you learn is prioritizing and time scheduling. If you do not get this the price is extremely expensive to you over your lifetime. Many previous to you did accomplish this without cheating so it is doable.

Does the sentences re-written reduces plagiarism

giving a reference to the original material reduces being accused of plagiarism as does getting the original authors permission to use or copy their material.
Passing something off as your own is plagiarism
If an idea comes from somewhere else it needs to be referenced even if it was a verbal conversation as it is not your own creative thought .

if you change the words it still needs to be referenced
it is an indirect quote rather than a direct quote usually quotation marks are used and in " italic format " {authors surname, 1997}
1997 would be date of authors publication
then at end of paper a detailed list of all references
authors name, 1997 , where it was from , date published , when you accessed it if online and website address

Then once you have permission you can reference the material with
{with permission from copyright owner mr john citizen 14th may,2016) in the reference

copying an entire source is not good either
Like you copy someones entire published paper and then pass it off as a well researched paper of your own.

How to detect plagiarism?

If you copied it from another source and do not attribute it to that source it is plagiarism. Since you wrote the paper only you know if you copied someting from another source and failed to properly attribute it.
