My Indesit Washer/Dryer repeatedly (but not always) gets stuck on the initial water collection part of the wash cycle. It makes a sound like water is filling (or draining) into the machine, there is water in the machine, and the drum turns once or twice then collects water again. I cannot get the machine out of this 'cycle' unless I turn the knob to the rinse function. Clothes come out poorly washed and this 'cycle' of water collection and two turns can go on for hours and hours unless I manually change the knob to the rinse function. this happens most often when I am washing with hot water (anything above 30° C). A repairman checked it out a year ago when it was still on warranty. He changed the electronic panel but the problem persisted. p.s. I live in an area with very hard water. could that be related to the problem?

Pressure switch is likely clogged/full of sediment.

Change it.

How do you get the water to drain in the Malber WD100 washer/dryer combo?

Hi. I''m assuming you are referring to a WD1000.
To initiate the drain cycle: Rotate far right knob CLOCKWISE to Position 4. It may take 30-45 seconds to recognize the knob's new position, but then it will begin an 11 minute Slow Tumble/Pump Out cycle. During this cycle you'll see the internal drum slowly rotate CW for 60 seconds, pause, then rotate CCW for 5 secs - then repeat. All this time the pump will run and you'll hear water running down the drain. When you hear no more water you can rotate same knob to "straight up", and stop the machine. To turn power off, press the rightmost button.

If the heater element is not working, then the cycle will not progress.
You need to test the element to see if it is o/k.
Hope this helps.

My Indesit won't advance, won't complete a cycle

if the drum rotates at any point and it empties with the pump at any point then check the heater element, its a common fault on these machines

Indesit 1200 washer/dryer instructions

probable cause is just poor water flow from outside. switch water off. undo hoses and check not kinked. in each hose, there should be a gauze filter. clean this. look inside the valve spigot and check no dirt buid-up. put hoses in a bucket and check water flow is ok. remove drawer and check holes in top of box are clear
