Do you have the unit in Turntable mode? Can you describe the distorted sound? Is it a hum, sound cuts in/out, scratchy sound? There have been alot of issues which plagued this unit. We get at least 1-2 a week in here for various issues. Although, I've never had one with distorted sound, that wasn't caused by something else (bad RCA cables, faulty mixer line, etc).

So make sure it is the unit. If so, you will need to take this in to a qualified service center for repair as determining the issue requires the tech run some test on the unit.

We are based in NY, so I can't really refer you to anyone in London. However, you can call Panasonic UK, which is the parent company of Technics, and they can refer you to a local area service center. http://www.panasonic.co.uk - go to the support section.

Turntable only playing sound from one speaker.

It could be like you said cartridge (could be a bad connector and cartridge ok) or bad contacts in amp switch try switching it a few times? also check the phono plugs coming out of the turntable sometimes the metal bit breaks off on the centre pin .If you have a multimeter check across the phono plugs to measure cartridge coil resistance both channels should be the same. You could try swapping the leads around and if the sound swaps L/R that would mean fault on turntable no sound would mean one side of amp down.

Badger 5-81 motor buzzing, blades spinning, won't grind

Replace the whole thing. They are not that expensive and are easy to replace. The issue could be bad motor part or the shaft came loose from the grinding disk.

Phono plays lower in volume than cd and tuner. Sounds ok i guess but is about a quarter to one third lower in volume. Is this normal ? Can I plug phono into cd jacks to check if any better ?

Hello. As per the post before me, if you have a receiver with a Phono input(many receivers don't have one anymore) the output of a phono cartridge is around 30 millivolts, vs 300 millivolts for a CD(10 times the amount) or any other line level device. A Phono preamp, also has RIAA(recording engineering standards)Equalization that provides the proper equalization for a Phono cartridge. As per the other post, yes, it will sound very low, and unnatural sounding. If the input you are plugging the turntable input into, doesn't say Phono, you can purchase an inexpensive Phono preamp made just for this very issue. You can try Radio Shack, or find something of better quality on the Internet.

Dave

ION iTTUSB turntable has buzzing sound when I record

It sounds like you have a bad ground on the tone arm. It's probably time to replace the tone arm wiring, or the external connecting cables.

The glass dish that goes around - makes a strange noise

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

You may have a bad motor orplastic coupler.

You can usually find exploded views and order parts by entering your model number at the Sears parts site.

Goldstar 1310W built in

The following parts are in the turntable system: The turntable motor, underneath the floor of the microwave; the turntable coupler, which is like a small plastic piece; the turntable support, either a three-legged or circular piece with wheels; and the glass turntable tray.

It sounds like maybe your turntable support is missing?

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.
