SOURCE: the seals on the doors need replaced. THEY leak

You can peel back the seal looking behind it and there should be screws all the way around it. Or you problem could be caused by- The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

I have a 1993 Imperial HD Commercial freezer. Model UL2494ECW1. Been working great until I defrosted it.

Warm moist air condensing. It should stop. There may have been ice that is now melting in the insulation. Just keep drying the outside. Leave the inside until tomorrow and chip off the frost with a plastic scraper.

Replaced freezer gaskets now not sealing well

Jay, Check to see if hinge can be adjusted so door closes tighter, may be a faulty door seal, or maybe it needs manipulated to soften, shape, stretch it to seal better. You can try the dollar bill trick between the seal and fridge to locate the problem/leaking spots. The bill should not pull out with out there being a little force, no force means seal is not proper in that area. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Old whirlpool upright freezer door got left slightly ajar. Light on inside. Rubber around door warm and won't seal.side of freezer warm. Stuff melting. What can I do?

Other than replacing the seal, you don't have many options. Theres two things you might want to try. First check the door alignment, make sure the gap is equal all around the door, Make sure a hinge hasn't moved. If it's just the seal being bent out of shape, you could try heating it with a hair dryer. Just run the dryer back and forth over the deformed area until the gasket/seal is soft, then close the door and hold it firmly in place while the seal cools. . . It may help. Good luck to you!

Electrolux Built in freezer door not closing.

I'm suspecting the door also because of the lack of suction power. you have to check the gasket more. Frost around the door is a great indication of where warm moist air is coming into it.

Freezer won't stay shut

If you want a part number for the replacement door gasket please provide a complete model number here so I can give that to you or you can look it up yourself at www.searsdirect.com You must have your model number. (sample 110.XXXXX etc)

The magnet is inside the door seal itself. If the seal is damaged replacement is your only option.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Kenmore freezer

if the gasket isn't torn and the gap isn't caused by a door hinge problem you might try putting some vaseline on the door seal. If that doesn't help you may have to replace the seal.

How to replace the door seal on a frigidare upright freezer

most fridge door seals are attached to the door by screws. If you flap the seal up from the bottom you should see some screws. if you go to the site below it gives your guidance on replacing the seals on fridges, as all fridge seals are pretty generic you should find it useful

Fitting an integrated fridge freezer!

Hi Gareth. I fitted a door to my Hotpoint hsz2321L today. I used self tapping screws through the brackets into the fridge door sides. Looking at the old fridge that came out showed that this was the method used previously. No seal is broken and so the fridge is working perfectly. I do have an issue re-fitting the door onto the new fridge though. The pivot hinge on my fridge doesnt give enough clearance and so it catches on the unit at the side of it. The old fridge (a Bosch) cad cabinet hinges that would sort of concertina out to give clearence. Anyway, good luck.
