You have to first note the ohm load the amp can handle and wire the speaker that ther amp can handle

SOURCE: subs will go off the wall with bass, but not in tune with music.

hi, first disconnect the rca input, then switch on headunit and if the amp produces a constant bass thump it then means it has an internal fault. if the amp idles quietly then replace the rca cable, or try connecting the headunit lineout feed directly to the bass amp, in this way you cud find out if your fault is coming from the headunit or the equaliser. cheers

SOURCE: What is the very best way to wire 3 sets of speaks and 2 subs through a 4 ch. amp and a 2 Ch. amp.?Thank you, Paul

Ummmm Im gonna give this a try-If it were me i would run the 4 channel ground pounder on the doors and rear panels -the front 2 channels run the component set exclusively at 2 ohms per channell and run the 8 inch 3 ways in parallel with the rear deck speakers for a combined load of 2 ohms per channel on the rear channells-naturally the 8 inchers and the 6.5's are going to be able to handle a little bit more bottom end than the component set so you can feed a little more midbass to those rear channels- I dont know the resistance of the coils on your subs or the model of the MA amp you are using but if you can throw 600 or 700 on your subs that should be sweet enough- hope its not a waste of your time or maybe you already tried it set up that way-good luck though

Whats the best way to wire an mtx thunder152 to an jl audio 12 w3-d6 duel voice coil sub

Take both positive leads to the positive of the amp. Both negatives from the sub to the negative of the amp. Utilize the bridged output connections. This would present a 3 ohm load which would be around 100 watts rms (rough estimate)

Need to know how to wire my system ...I have the infinity reference series 611a I was told it was a mono block but it has two channels on the exterrior...also I have two 12 inch MTX thunder dual voice coil...

it all depends on what kind of box the mtx subs are in as far as wiring the subs. The best way would be take the speaker wire from both sub boxes and run the positive into the right positive then the negative into the left negative. and run 8 gauge wiring kit to the amp because 10 might be to small and 4 is to big 8 gauge is perfect for this amp.

What size enclosure is recommended for 2 10" kenwood tornado subs?

If it is an open air sub ( hole with mesh in the center of the magnet) no ports are required, and the box should be sealed on the inside with silicone sealant. If it is a closed air sub ( no hole in the magnet) you need a 50mm port about 120mm long Box size will be 11 inches x 11 inches x 11 inches

How do i wire mtx 9500 subs 2 10'' down to a one ohm

THE T9510-04 SUBS ARE SINGLE COIL SUBS AND YOU CAN VIEW THAT WIRING DIAGRAM AT THE FOLLOWING LINK:
http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/TechData_T9510-04.pdf

THE T9510-44 SUBS ARE DUAL VOICE-COIL SUBS AND YOU CAN VIEW THAT WIRING DIAGRAM AT THE FOLLOWING LINK:
http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/TechData_T9510-44.pdf

SINCE YOU NEED A 1 OHM LOAD, I PRESUME BRIDGED AND ARE USING TWO SUBS, THEN HOPEFULLY YOU HAVE THE DUAL VOICE COIL TYPE, AS THEY ARE DUAL 4 OHM AND YOU WILL HAVE TO CONNECT THE VOICE-COILS IN PARALLEL WHICH WILL MAKE EACH SPEAKER A 2 OHM SPEAKER AND THEN CONNECT THE TWO SPEAKERS THEMSELVES IN PARALLEL AND THIS WILL PROVIDE YOU THE 1 OHM LOAD. IF YOU IN FACT HAVE THE SINGLE 4 OHM VOICE COIL VERSION, THEN IT WILL ONLY PARALLEL THE PAIR DOWN TO 2 OHMS. OK. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE.....V

Have kenwood mono amp 4,2,1 ohm capabilitie. What is the best sub to run. The amp is 1600 watts, howmany ohms and 1 or 2 voice coils.

Hello pelikant75,

The best answer depends on your budget for the sub(s) and exactly what kind of sound you are looking to get. Your amps RMS output at 4 ohms is 200 watts and at 2 ohms, it's 400 watts. I could not find that it was 1 ohm stable.

If you are looking for the absolute best bang for your buck, I would highly recommend a pair of entry level MTX 10" subs, model 4501-04, currently priced by Crutchfield at $49.99. And if you buy a pair, they throw in a free Bass Slammer BS210S sealed enclosure. The MTX's power range is 112.5 to 225 watts each, right in there with your amps output. 2 of them in parallel give you a 2 ohm load, just right for your amps best power. And they sound great. You simply can't find a better deal for $100 bucks!

If you want a little better SQ, a pair of Rockford-Fosgate P1S410's should be considered. Again, going to Crutchfield, they currently have this one "BOGO" (buy one get one) for $99.99. You will have to provide your own box, though, no free one with these.

Finally, if you want the best SQ, and your budget allows, consider a set of Alpine SWR-1022D's for $179.99 each. These have dual 2 ohm voice coils, allowing you to series the coils and parallel the subs, resulting in a 2 ohm load to you amp just like the MTX's and RF's recommended above. You will probably want a somewhat larger enclosure for the Alpines as well as a fatter wallet. Your amp is right at the lower end for powering them, so they probably will not be as loud. But they will sound good.

One thing we haven't discussed is the box. The enclosure is just as important, perhaps even more important than the sub(s). More accurate bass is generally produced from a sealed enclosure. A ported enclosure will be louder, but at the expense of sound quality. And whether it's sealed or ported, the enclosure needs to have enough internal volume for the particular sub you are planning to use. A sealed box in the range of .75 to 1 cu/ft will be OK for any of the recommended subs. Add about 15-20% more volume for a ported box and keep in mind that the port needs to be specifically sized for the frequency for which it is tuned.

Hope this helps.

MTX 5500 SLEDGEHAMMER 12" ENCLOSURE

According to MTX they need 1.25 cubic ft per sub sealed and 2 cubic feet vented. Most pre-fab boxes will work for those subs.
