Every DW is a bit different. You have to pull it out of the cavity where it is installed. Turn off water and power first. remove the two screws at the top of the front face that anchor it to the counter. Remove the escutcheon at the bottom of the front . Typically there are two or four screws. Carefully pull it an inch or tow. Then look under with a flashlight and pull another few inches. Repeat until it is clear. Stop when you see the drain hose connection - I have owned back and front drainers. It is usually affixed with a clamp to the outlet. The other side goes to a drain of often the garbage disposer. Replace, reassemble. Good luck

I have a Kenmore portable dishwasher. The sink connector(not the adapter, but the white connector that has hoses attached) spits water out of the bottom during it's entire cycle. I have used other portable...

I think that the valve assembly in the end of your attachment hose is having problems, check with Kenmore and see if a replacement one is available and if your dishwasher is new enough perhaps it might be under warranty?

We heard a loud gushing sound and the dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen floor. Why?

The drain hose may have disconnected from the dishwasher or at the waste trap or the drain hose maybe broken.
If the drain hose is OK then the water supply hose may have disconnected from the tap or the water hose is broken and fresh water is leaking from this hose.

Standing water in model FDB1050RESO frigidaire electrolux dishwasher 2005 model

Good Afternoon Friend,

I see that you have standing water in your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FDB105RES. I would suggest trying the troubleshooting tips below:

• If your appliance is hooked up to a food waste disposer, make sure the disposer is empty.

• Check to see if the knockout plug has been removed from inside the food waste disposer inlet.

• Check to see if the drain hose is kinked.

• Make sure the cycle is complete and not in a pause mode.

If you are still having trouble with your dishwasher not draining, I recommend contacting either the manufacturer or a local authorized technician. Hope this helps.

-Best Regards-

Does this model have a garbarator

You haven't specified the make and model of your dishwasher, but none that I'm aware of have a garburator (rest of the world = waste disposal unit) although many separate garburators permit the connection of a dishwasher outlet hose to them.

If this does not answer your question then please state the make and model and I'll give your question another go.

How to remove waste hose from machine?

1 Turn off the circuit breaker that controls the dishwasher.
2 Open the dishwasher door. Locate the two small screws holding the bottom valance trim piece. Remove the screws and the valance, revealing the lower pump assembly and drain-hose connection.
3 Remove the hose clamp. Disconnect the drain line by pulling the hose.
4 Find the other end of the drain line under the sink; it is connected to the drain tail piece or the garbage disposal. Remove the hose clamp and disconnect the drain line. The dishwasher drain hose is now disconnected at both ends.
5 Pull the dishwasher drain hose into the sink base through the hole between the dishwasher and the sink base.
6 Take the dishwasher drain hose outside or to a wash sink. Run hot water through the line to clean and unclog it. When you see water running freely through the hose, then it is clean. If the hose cannot be cleaned, replace it with a new drain hose of the same size and length.
7 Feed the clean dishwasher drain hose back to its original configuration. Reconnect both hose clamps. Reinstall the valance, turn on the circuit breaker and test-run the dishwasher.

Water is not getting drained from the botom of the machine

Hi,

There are several possibilities as to why water isn't draining from your washer:

1. Blocked drain filter
The filter is usually at the bottom of the wash compartment. You didn't state which model of dishwasher you have, so please refer to your user manual for instructions for cleaning your filter. If you don't have a manual, please post back here with your dishwasher brand and model number for information on cleaning your filter and where to download a manual if one is available.

2. Blocked/kinked waste hose
Check the waste outflow hose at the back of the washer for any kinks or other damage. Also remove the hose where it attaches to your sink (or waste outlet) and check for any blockages both in the end of the hose and at the sink attachment. If there is a lot of dirt in the hose, it may be blocked somewhere further back.

3. Blocked waste disposal / sink trap / waste outflow
Make sure your sink is draining efficiently. Clean as necessary

4. Faulty waste pump
If all of the above check out, you may have a faulty pump. Please post back for further advice regarding this after completing the above checks.

Water is clogged in the bottm of the unit. how do I clear the drain?

Hi,

The drain filter is clearly visible at the bottom of the wash compartment but there are several possibilities as to why there is still water in the bottom of your washer:

1. Blocked drain filter
At the bottom of the wash compartment, there is a fine mesh grille and a plastic cylinder which protrudes from it. Grip the plastic cylinder, twist anti-clockwise and pull it upwards. To clean it, remove any debris from the cylinder, rinse then replace in reverse order of the above.

2. Blocked/kinked waste hose
Check the waste outflow hose at the back of the washer for any kinks or other damage. Also remove the hose where it attaches to your sink (or waste outlet) and check for any blockages.

3. Blocked waste disposal / sink trap / waste outflow
Make sure your sink is draining efficiently. Clean as necessary

4. Faulty waste pump
If all of the above check out, you may have a faulty pump. Please post back for further advice regarding this after completing the above checks.

Water in the bottom and not working

Check for a clogged drain (e.g.: via drain hose), or a water pump malfunction due to foreign obstruction (e.g.: glass, etc).

Note: If you changed a food waste disposer (kitchen sink area) and did not remove "plug" from disposer for dishwasher drain hose (assuming dishwasher drain hose connected to food waste disposer), then water cannot drain from dishwasher.

Hooking carbage disposal to diswashing not sure where it hooks on the dishwasher itself

Waste line from dishwasher to waste connects to one of
  • small spigot on extension pipe above the disposal up high under counter
  • small spigot on side of disposal directly above sewer connection, below blade
  • small spigot on sewer line below disposal, but above U trap
at the dishwasher end, the hose connects to the pump output, under the base of the dishwasher, usually left side of center, there is no external spigot
you have to run the waste line under from the back, and connect from the front , by removing the kick plate under the door opening

Hotpoint dishwasher

Did you have a dishwasher before? If so, you must have had a sink tail piece with a dishwasher drain coming off the side. For the connection, you may have to get an adapter to fit the end of the dishwasher drain hose to the sink tail piece. Take all pieces to hardware store if necessary to get an adapter which fits. After you connect the drain hose, make sure that the drain hose has a "high loop", meaning that the hose curls up at least 6 inches above the connection point before it goes down again. This is important to keep sink waste from getting back into the diswasher hose if the sink drain backs up.
