Delta touchless faucet turns on just fine, but there is a several seconds delay when I turn it off. I did replace the batteries

It's possible that the solenoid valve in the touchless faucet is not functioning properly, and needs to be replaced. Another possibility is that there is a loose or broken wire in the electrical circuit that powers the solenoid valve. You may want to check the connections and wiring, and consult a plumber or electrician if necessary, to help diagnose and repair the issue.

My recommendation is to reset the LED light wire and battery pack. To do this, disconnect the LED light wire from the solenoid. Disconnect the battery pack and wait a full minute. While you are waiting a full minute, you can check batteries to see if they are in good condition, even try new batteries. Make sure all batteries are in the correct direction and are tightly secured in the battery pack. After a full minute, reconnect the LED light wire into the solenoid and then reconnect the battery pack. Wait another full minute. After the full minute, you can then check your faucet and see if the lights work . The market is full of brands making these faucets but how to decide which one is the best suited to your needs. Below mentioned are few things which should be kept in mind while making a purchase of a touchless kitchen faucets.

• Position of the motion sensor
  It is important to check where the sensor is placed on your kitchen faucet. Their position varies from brand to brand. Some of them come with the sensor installed on their spout, while others have them at the bottom or the top of the faucet. It is up to you to select the one which suits your needs. Moen touchless faucets have two sensors, and the wave sensor is placed at the top which is responsible for the activation and deactivation of water flow and the other sensor, ready sensor is placed at the bottom, which is used merely for identifying the articles in your sink.
• Power Source
  When it comes to a power source, there are two types of touchless kitchen faucets in the market. For the ones that need a continuous power supply you have to make sure that they are installed near a power outlet in your kitchen. The other type runs on a battery and can be placed anywhere. You can choose either depending upon your kitchen needs.
• Others
  Before buying the faucet for your kitchen make sure its length, height, etc. is appropriate for your kitchen. Also make sure whether it is easily installable or not.

• Solid Blue - Normal operation, "Touch" mode is activated.
• Flashing Blue - Normal operation, the hands-free mode is activated.
• Solid Red - Warning mode - Replace batteries as soon as possible. While the water is running Solid Red LED is illuminated. When the water is off, the Red LED flashes once every 5 seconds. The faucet operates normally, solenoid valve is open.
• Rapid Flash Red - Alert Mode - Battery Failure Imminent. The Red LED flashes once a second. The first time the faucet is used, the Red LED will turn ON, the solenoid valve will be opened and remain open. The manual valve must be used until the batteries are replaced.
• Solid Red - Lockdown Mode - Replace Batteries. Extremely Low Batteries - The RED LED is ON, and water will not flow. The solenoid valve is closed and faucet will not operate until batteries are replaced.
• Long Flash Red (2 seconds on / 2 seconds off) - Board error, replace electronics kit, RP53230 See manual bypass of electronics section of Installation instructions.

search for "touch faucet" (Delta and Kohler have a few) or search for touchless faucets (many manufacturers have these with a sensor like at public restrooms)

You need to replace the washer on the stem. It's a Delta so it's possible that you have the type where the washer is actually in the very bottom of the manifold instead of on the stem.

there may be an air lock in your water pipes causing pressure at the end, as daft as it sounds try bleeding your radiaors as that worked for me...hope this helps ;-)

If you have a Delta faucet your diverter may need to be replaced. The diveter is located under the spout (see diagram)



Here are the instructions:

1. Turn off water to faucet.
2. Remove handle.
3. Remove top cap.
4. Turning spout back and forth gently lift and remove.
5. Remove and replace diverter.
