Is it the Ball machine or typebar, if typebar machine where
the keys come up out of the "basket" there are small slots, lubricate that area first with some cleaner such as windex and then a little wd40 or oil such as 3n1 or lite machine oil. Try this may be something more but that area gets dirty and dry....

SOURCE: replacing typewriter ribbon
i have this typewriter also. after replacing the ribbon and print wheel you have to press the (CODE) & (=) keys. This will align itself. I recently had to replace the print wheel and referred to the manual. Works like a charm.
SOURCE: RIBBON CHANGE
Make sure the ribbon is facing the correct side. Usually, there is a small encave which is to be facing downwards. Snap it in place and you are good to go.

Something else you might check, I was having same problem. Make sure the Daisy Wheel Lock Lever (check the description that comes in the guide) is locked in place, i.e., push it forward to lock. It is the black thing that sticks up on the right inside the correction tape. I did this and words started appearing. Hope it helps.
