The disk size of 698GB under Windows is correct for a 750GB drive.
This tells you there is only one partition on the Transcend drive.
It is best to reformat the Transcend drive to NTFS, unless you need to also read from the Transcend drive using a computer that does not support NTFS.
I would expect Acronis backup inviting you to reformat to NTFS if you would try using a FAT32 drive for backup. FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB which may impede backups.
I used Acronis for all of my partitioning needs,it took me 2 weeks to 6 nomths fix my OS,then to keep it running.Using Acronis to partition my hard drive to keep it running.
you need to resize the partition with a partitioning tool like partition magic or acronis disk director, or clone the drive with acronis true image. these tools are downloadable here. That site has a bootable cd, which is loaded before windows starts.
if your pc starts ok with no cd in than do it like that if you see this error all the time it means your hard drive is shot, or erased, or partially erased and needs to be setup again or replaced. got nothing to do with acronis if it does this all the time even with no cd in drive.
acronis seems at fault here.its better to keep one partion per harddrive.that way it is't jumping around as many times.use xp to do the partions and see if that works.also make sure *********** board can support the drives terrabyte capacity.also instead of useing the disk defragmenter built in xp use jk defrag it is alot better.you don't even have to install it just unzip and use.can even use off of a flashdrive.if you got any question feel free to email me at [email protected]
Acronis has an application that run before the OS called Acronis loader. It is posible it gets corrupt. Try the booting cd with acronis rescue media. Then Uninstall the boot loader. Ultimately, if you cannot do backup/restore from the computer, extract the hard drive, using and hard disk to USB adapter, do the nessesary operations on othe computer that you will hookup the hardrive.
You can use a more sophisticated partitioning and formating software program such as GParted or Acronis Disk Editor. Both programs can create a bootable cdrom that will boot and allow you to delete create and format partitions.
Pressing ENTER will boot the drive.
