My sx 315 turns within 5 seconds when it is powered on

hello i have a pioneer sx-315 it plays great but the sub performs badly.they sound is very low.they really need to perform better.if anybody know any sub that work better please let me know.

Probably the thermal fuse in the main power transformer. Check for ac on both the primary and secondary of the transformer. If you have 120v ac on the primary when the standby light is off and nothing on the secondary you need a new transformer.

Its sounds like you have fallen victim to the bad capacitors on these models. You can Google gateway capacitor problems and find a ton in information and unhappy people. I was one of them and had the same symptoms as you. Mine would power up with a blue light then turn orange and not come back on one day then the next it would work untill it finnaly quit all together. I ended up replacing 6 bad ones on my inverter board. This cost me about $5.00 for the parts at Radio Shack and alot of time+beer lol. You can find alot information on this here http://www.badcaps.net/ There are also alot of guys on e-bay that will replace the caps for you if you mail them the board. You can just go to ebay and type monitor power inverter board. This will return a few of these guys.
