Best part of the problem is everything works except for the fact that the screen is all white.
so u can still call ( only if u have memorised all the stored numbers), receive calls (without knowing who is calling) and above all the most intriguing part is u can not switch off ur cell using the power button(u can swith off only after removing the battery)

I'll take in consideration all the suggestions made here. The only way to repair it is to bring it to service. I'll make it, but I think this will be expensive.
YES THEY WILL REPLACE UR PHONES DISPLAY IS GONE OR MAY B CONNECTOR HAVE SOME PROBLEM SO RUSH TO UR RETAILER.

The problem of your phone is the display IC if its still on warranty go to your retailer till them your problem maybe they will replace the unit if not they were the one to forward it to nokia center, but you will wait up to 2 to 3 weeks i think. but if you are near to a service center of nokia go directly to them so that you will not wait for that kind of days to rapair your unit.

NOKIA N70 white display: problem is everything works except for the fact that the screen is all white(Sometimes it displays dots, -ve display, mirrored display, partial display etc.
I can still make calls (by entering the numbers) and receive calls (without knowing who is calling). Mobile can be switched off by pressing the power button. sounds are also OK when somebody calls.
I reported at nokia service center and they said that the display is fine and the board has the problem and it needs to be replaced which is not the best solution.
Can anybody advise me how to fix it.

I have a nokia n70. it's an older phone passed down to me when my partner recieved an upgrade so it has no warranty. The screen has suddenly become white, with dappled colours and mixed up letters that are faded and I can't see anything. is there anything I can do myself without taking it to be repaired and being charged!?

I also have the same problem with my N70 display. It boots, I can also hear the Nokia sound after it boots and the display shows nothing, except it is on, but blank.
But mine isn't in waranty.
What can be done?
Please help.
P.S.: I also tried the Call,3,* hard reset and still has problems with display.
yes the same problem i to face that suddenly display changes to white i will be removing the battery and fixing it for 2 ,3 times then it will become to normal mode why?..............

I´ve updated "VIRUS DEFINITION" with its own anti-virus software.After receiving the updates, it asked for a RESTART. Doing that, i got a white diaplay with NOKIA logo and it failed to work. Pls suggest me a repair for that.
