I just replaced a starmate 4 (stolen from my car)with a starmate 5. All the wires and docking station in the car were left in tact. They only took the receiver unit. When I place the starmate 5 on the docking station I get power but I get a "antenna not detected" on the screen. I have not yet activated the new unit.

Call Audiovox support. After waiting an hour I was told the unit (pnp2) was faulty and I was to call customer service to arrange a replacement. Mine is on the way to NY.

I've had this same thing happen to mine frequently - all I do to solve the problem is to remove the battery for about 20 seconds and then reconnect and power it back on. Always works fine after that (knocking on wood)! Hope this helps!

Remove the back cover on your radio. The antenna connector is located on the right of the dock connector. Carefully resolder the connections. There are 2 pins (they lead to 3 contacts). Very easy repair, all you need it a fine tip soldering iron and some flux. You can get those for around $15 at wally world.
