I have Samsung TV using a new Blackweb Remote. can set TIMER to view up to 10shows; however no longer switches to the channel scheduled the time that was set; totally ignores the schedule.

A couple months ago got rid of CABLE and installed a 'window antenna' ... I get 17 local channels ... few days ago while making adjustments to picture/sound, channels aligned themselves in numeric order without spaces in between; all of a sudden unable to VIEW shows listed under that NETWORK; only shows channel letters; would still accept timed shows, but stopped switching to scheduled shows. is problem with TV or the remote??? how to fix.

SOURCE: tv set just lost its ability to display digital channels

Your problem is definitely the input signal source to your tv. It is extremely rare where a new tv has a tuner signal sensitivity problem. The best thing to do is to replace your current set of rabbit ears with a different set of powered rabbit ears that have a higher gain rating with a variable gain control. Please note that the gain control setting is critical when setting up your tuner for auto-programming. If the gain control is set too low or too high it will result in your symptom.

If you still can't get it to work you could try buying a line amplifier which you would install to the rabbit ears before the tv. If you still can't get it to work you'll have no choice but to purchase an outside antennae as a result of your being in a weak signal area as signal quality changes by such things as the switch over to digital upcoming and environmental changes.

SOURCE: Sound on one channel from over the air antenna has suddenly become garbled. All others are fine.

If only one channel is affected it is not a problem usually with the set--it does not know what channel you are on---look in audio menu and make sure if set has SAP it is not on.

Logik recorder - error message - cannot schedule recording, there is already a timer at the same time on this channel. turned the box off at the wall & retuned. Any suggestions? Thank you. x

check programmed recordings you will have a clash possibly in time and date on another channel. If the dvd records two channels at once normally check if it has two channels already set up at the same time to record i the scheduled recordings.
you may have two different channel positions that are the same tv station and have set up two different channels to record the same show. and then you may be trying to record another different channel at the same time. check and delete extra channel schedule.

Another way to have this is as an example say programmed record at channel nine f0r show 1 at 7:30 to 8.35 day xyz and then you set up show 2 to record at channel nine say from 8:30 to 9.35.day xyz this will use two time frames during the overlap from 8:30 to 8:35 on day xyz and if you decide to record a third show you can't between the overlap time frame

florami

The following is instructions for deleting timers from your receiver.

Turn your TV on. Press your DVR button on your DISH remote 2 times. This will bring up My Recordings on your TV. Select the Schedule button on the right of the screen. This will take you to the Daily Schedule screen. Select the Timers button on the right. You will be on the Timers List screen. Press and release the Left Arrow button on the remote to move the cursor into the Timers List box. Select the timer you want to remove. After pressing select on the remote, there is a button on the right, Delete. Select the Delete button and it will ask you if you are sure you want to delete the timer. Select Yes. You will need to follow those steps to delete all timers you do not want. As you delete timers, you will not see those timers on the Timers List or the Daily Schedule anymore. I hope this helps.

When I try to record back to back programs on different channels the timers won't work. It tells me there is a conflict with the timers and tells me to change priority or whatever. I can set a manual...

Hi this is Luke.
DVR Priority settings are used to prioritize timers should there be a conflict between timers. The top of the list is the highest priority and takes precedence. The bottom of the list is the lowest priority. A lower priority timer will not fire if there is a higher priority timer at the same time. Timers that conflict with each other will display Attention 532. The message may display when switching from Single User Mode to Dual User Mode because the receiver recalculates timers for conflicts.
  1. Press DVR three times on the remote (twice for a 942 receiver). The skip timer icon (red x) designates a conflicting timer.
  2. Select Timers.
  3. Select Set Priority.
  4. Select the timer to change.
  5. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons on the remote or the Move Up and Move Down options on the screen to move the timer priority one at a time. Use the Move to Top and Move to Last options on the screen to make the timer top or last priority.
  6. Select Done.

Selecting Automatically resolve by priority will allow the receiver to set the priority level of the timer. The last timer created will have the lowest priority level and will not be recorded if both tuners are being used for other higher priority level timers.

Selecting Change the priority of this timer will allow the customer to set the priority level of the timer. With the new event highlighted in the Daily Schedule screen (the event will display with the skip icon), press Select. Select Restore and then Yes. The new timer will now have a higher priority level than the conflicting timers.

You may also want to resolve the conflict by:
  1. Press Menu on the remote.
  2. Select Daily Schedule.
  3. Select Timers.
  4. Arrow over and select the timer that needs to be edited.
  5. Select Edit.
  6. Make the desired changes then select done.
Let me know if this help.

Replaced bulb last nite, green light blinks for a min. then it worked! watched a few min.turned on this morning blinking.... wont stop green blink. last nite when i changed bulb tv said change bulb reset...

Many projectors use a lamp hour timer for predicting bulb life so they can give you fair warning of impending failure. Since a bulb may be removed and reinstalled because it is still working or another used lamp installed, the timer is not automatically reset to zero when the lamp is replaced. I surmise your set is complaining because the timer was not reset or the time verified when you changed the bulb.

To fix the problem, buy or borrow a remote control; a universal remote control with a menu button may work. (If you borrow a universal remote from a friend, be sure to record the code for your friend's TV first so you can set it back before returning it.)

You could probably get back into the timer reset menu by removing the new lamp and reinstalling it. Caution: follow the directions on page 68 of the user's manual or the sheet that came with the bulb - let the set cool for an hour first, unplug, and wear gloves when handling the bulb since skin oil can cause discoloration and possibly an explosion when the bulb gets hot. You can download the user's manual from Panasonic's support page for this set.

If you can edit the timer hours instead of just resetting, you may want to set it for the number of hours the new bulb has been used.

It is likely that you can get into the lamp timer menu if the set is in service mode, but the user's manual doesn't tell how to get there (I don't have that info either - it's in the service manual, which may be available online from a third party for a price). Usually it is something like holding a volume or channel button on the front of the TV while turning it on with the remote control. After that you need the code to switch to the timer menu. If you have problems getting into the timer menu, ask your dealer's service department or try calling the Panasonic help line listed on the bottom of page 68: 1-888-VIEW PTV(843-9788).

Just hooked up my new Magnavox DV220MW9 DVD Player ? VCR Recorder. I was able to set the time and a vcr timer program but now I can't switch the source. It now comes on as the DVD but neither the remote...

You need to release the timer to access the VCR. Press the Timer Set button on the remote or the Stop/Eject button on the recorder. Then press the VCR button.

Please note: the scheduled recording will not run as programmed unless you press the Timer Set on the remote again. (The timer locks the VCR until the scheduled ON time.) The DVD player is controlled separately and becomes the default unit.

I hope this helps.

Stand by timer shuts tv off after 30 sec sony tv

Sounds more like it's been set to do that. Use the following to shut off the timer mode. It's possible that the set is set to the wrong time of day but that is unlikely. You can shut off the timer mode using the on screen menu. Follow the instructions below.

Using the Timer Menu
Current Time Set your TV to the current day and time. Press to open the Current
Time menu:
1 Use the F or f buttons to enter the correct day and time, then press
.
2 Press to exit the menu.
Timer 1 and
Timer 2
Scheduled
viewing
Use the timers to program your TV to turn on and off by day, time,
duration, and channel. The timer duration is a maximum of six hours.
When the channel is fixed, it is not necessary to set the channel.
1 Use the F or f buttons to highlight Timer 1 or Timer 2, then press
.
2 Use the F or f buttons to enter the desired day, start time, duration,
and channel, then press . The timer status should be On when the
Timer has been set, and the timer light on the front panel of the TV
should be on.
3 Press to exit the menu.
? When you perform Auto Program, Timer 1 and Timer 2 settings will be cleared. Also, in the event of
any loss of power, Current Time, Timer 1, and Timer 2 settings will be cleared

Program timer light blinking

The timer light blinks when the AC power has been disconnected and the clock is not set. This is how the set warns you that it can no longer do timer recordings. Setting the clock and doing an autoprogram will fix it, but both the remote and the remote receiver must be working. If the original remote is not damaged and has good batteries in it but does not work on that set and you cannot get any other universal remote to work, then the remote receiver (the IR "eye") inside the set has failed and needs to be replaced. I have seen many of those little receivers failing recently. If you do not have experience changing electronic parts on small PC boards then have a qualified tech change it for you.

Set a timed recording

Do you have your operation manual? It will tell you how to set up a timed recording. Recording options are set via the remote. Look for an option as "Scheduled recording" or similiar. Date, start & end time, channel, recording speed are all set. If you are missing your manual do a google search with your model number. A quick look at the Samsung website was not fruitful.
