The culprit may be your water heater. If the steam side got hooked up to the hot water heater and you haven't drained it about every 6 months, you may have some sediment that has shifted down the line and deposited in the steam control stem.

SOURCE: shower pressure.

Hi chicken69

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

You want to know why the presssure on your triton t80i shower has dropped by half?

It is very possible that some debrie has come up in the water and is partially clogging the shower. For this you would have to turn the water off and dissassemble the parts clearing all the small passages, a bit of wire or paper clip works. Perhaps for a pro? If you like you may choose to utilize our Repair Directory.

SOURCE: I have a Kohler K-7 steam generator/shower and

There is a float valve interior of the steam generator that supplies water to the generator unit. There are no parts available for that unit, and Kohler was useless re: repair. I have the same unit and mine is doing the same thing. I took it apart and there is a washer worth about a nickel that is inside the unit. I flipped the washer over in mine and it worked for about a week....then back to the same problem.

Vehicle overheating tips

If your vehicle engine coolant temperature gauge indicates overheating, if you experience a loss of power,or if you hear a loud knocking or pinging noise, the engine has probably overheated. You should follow this procedure............

Pull safe off the road, stop the vehicle and turn on our emergency flasher. Put the transmission in "P" (automatic) or neutral (manual) and apply the parking brake. Turn off the air conditioning if it is being used.

If coolant or steam is boiling out of the radiator or reservoir, stop the engine. Wait until the steam subsides before opening the hood. If there is no coolant boiling over the steam, leave the engine running. CAUTION: To avoid personal injury, keep the hood closed until there is not steam. Escaping steam or coolant is a sign of very hing pressure.

Visually check to see if the engine drive belt (fan belt) is broken or loose. Lock for obvious coolant leaks from the radiator, hoses, and under the vehicle. However, note that water draining from the air conditioning is normal if it has been used. CAUTION: When the engine is running, keep hands and clothing away from the moving fan engine drive belt.

If the engine drive belt is broken or the coolant is leaking, stop the engine immediately and call your mechanic of assistance.

If the engine drive belt is okay and there are no obvious leaks, you may help the engine cool down more quickly by running it at about 1500 rpm for a few minutes with the accelerator pedal lightly depressed.

Check the coolant reservoir. If it is dry, add coolant to the reservoir while the engine is running. Fill it about half full. CAUTION:Do not attempt to remove the radiator cap when the radiator are hot. Serious injury could result from scalding hot fluid and steam blown out under pressure.

After the engine coolant temperature has cooled to normal, again check the coolant level in the reservoir. If necessary, bring it up to half full again. Serious coolant loos indicates a leak in the system. You should have it checked as soon as possible at your mechanic's workshop.

Good luck.

Fix seized engine

White smoke is an indication of water in the engine. Like when you see a car with white smoke from the exhaust on a cold morning, it's heat moisture condensate in the exhaust (normal), and is being heated and converted to steam as the engine blows hot exhaust out. To test if it's water in the engine, there are two likely indications, (1) the motor oil will be milky and white, or (2) you can remove the spark plug and see if any cylinder sprays water mist when the engine is turned over. In either case the problem is a bad gasket, maybe head gasket (repairable), or a cracked block (big $$$ fix). If engine will not turn over, there could be two causes (assuming the battery and starting system is good); (1) a cylinder is full of water and hydraulically locked keeping the engine from turning over (removing spark plugs should relieve the pressure and allow you to turn the engine over (* you'll see mist or water coming out spark plug holes), or (2) the engine is seized, therefore the previous troubleshooting is unnecessary, engine replacement is necessary. Best of luck resolving this problem.

Error code Prr on Mr. Steam control unit. Steam generator starts for about 10 seconds, but no steam comes out and error code "Prr" shows on control unit. Any insights?

I had this problem, and checked the connections, emptied the resivour, and refilled it, and it had no effect.
To fix the problem, I ran the regular shower on hot for 10 minutes to warm up the shower chamber. Then, when I pressed the power button on the steam shower, it displayed "110" as normal.
The problem with "Prr" appears to be that the temp sensor is reporting a value out of range. Heating the shower chamber (and therefore sensor) provides a good value to the sensor, which then allows the shower to operate.
Try warming up your sensor by running the shower.
