THIS I HAVE SOLVED ON MY OWN HP9700 LAPTOP. GO TO INTERNET OPTIONS>ADVANCED TAB AND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE YOU WILL SEE A BUTTON TO "RESET INTERNET EXPLORER TO DEFAULT SETTINGS". THIS WILL CLEAR YOUR PROBLEM WITH IE. IT WILL GO BACK TO ITS SETTINGS BEFORE THE FREEZES. I HAVE USED THIS AND IT WORKS GREAT. SEE IF THIS DOESN'T CLEAR YOUR PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK.

Ours did the same thing and we returned it for an exact same model. Happy to report that the second one works just fine. Don't waste any more time on this defective one!

the disk may be playing correctly, but that does not matter. but i want you to know that the disc is not 100% good, you can try another disc and see that is going to copy successfully.

Hi the problem is not with your password so dont change any settings ok the problem is not your end everybody else is having the same problem, sony are having some down time at the minute to update their servers and software so just bare with them for a couple of hours and it will be back on shortly.

their are loads of people asking the same question in the last hour so you are not the only one, you could try going to the sony ps3 web site and check on their for any down time,

i have just got through to sony and they are doing maintenance on the network so just bare with them and it should be back on shortly ok
i just found out the network is down for 12 hours some lucky people may sign in but will soon be cut off its down till 23:30pm GMT time as im in UK time here is now 19:28 so their is another 4 hours left of down time

Yeah that happened to me as well. You could try deleting the actual app and reinstalling it, you don't have to create a new account for that or you could not use it for a few hours and then when you go on it again it may work. The waiting worked for me.
