SOURCE: Hoover Savvy has limited suction when cleaning the floor and carpet

With the unit standing upright, double check the clear plastic air passages on the sides of the vacumn to see if they are clogged.

SOURCE: lost suction

TOSS IT and forget it! I have never used a hand vac that worked that was worth the effort of turning it on .... I suggest they are all junk ... I found very few vacuum cleaners ... actually **** especially anything made by dirt devil ... I do have a bagless Bissell 6579-2 that I purchased 4 years ago at walmart for $49 ... It outperforms any vacuum I've ever used, including my worthless Shop-Vac that I paid a lot more for ... this Bissell vac SUCKS ... It could **** the barnacles from a steamship!

SOURCE: motor makes loud growling noise, no suction on

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. Unfortunately that normally means the motor has shot its bearings and/or its carbon brushes. I think it is time to purchase a new one. On the bright side there are some rreally great vacuums out there! If you want any help choosing a new machine send me a message. Happy Vacuuming :)

I have a Miele Classic C1 Cat & Dog. Had to replace the motor. Now the motor is quiet but there is little to no suction through the hose. Some air comes thru the exhaust.

You have a blockage somewhere. The most likely place is in the brush head behind the brush or at the first joint to the metal tube.

Miele vacuum cleaner suddenly stops

So this is a problem I identified in Miele's mid size ranged canister cleaners. Not only the S318...

If you go about cleaning on the highest power setting the engine will overheat after 5-10 minutes. It then will need around 20-30 minutes to cool down before you can use it again.

Tip: Don't run the machine on 100% power, instead turn the setting to around 80-90% and then you can enjoy good suction un-interrupted.

Power is on but no suction....

I recommend taking your vacuum to a qualified repair person for diagnosis and/ or repairs. Electronic repairs can be fairly reasonable to fix but much more expensive and dangerous if not done properly

My almost new miele Dog and Cat vac keeps telling me the bag is full when it's not (new bag, no clogs)and I have almost no suction. Any ideas?

Remove the hose and check the suction. It it is still bad check to see if the canister is closing on the bag. Most likely the hepa filter needs replaced. Here http://www.totalvac.com/mielevacuumcleanerfilters.htm
