SOURCE: reset instructions for PIR floodlight

There should be a screw adjustment under the PIR unit. Clockwise direction increases the amount of time it stays on and anticlockwise decreases the amount of time it stays on. It's usually a small hole which you can see a slot in which you turn with a screwdriver.

Would like a manual for the regent corp. rainlight model MS550

Hello, Tom -

I hope I am correct in thinking you are asking about a user manual for the Regent Corp. outdoor floodlight (not a rainlight) MS550. If so . . .

That model of outdoor floodlight was manufactured by Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries (headquarters: Peachtree City, Georgia), which is a division of Eaton.

I have not yet found the user manual online in any format.

Therefore, I suggest you contact Cooper Industries Customer Service directly and ask if the user manual for the MS550 model lighting (no longer manufactured and sold, apparently) is available. The company Archives may hold a copy which can be scanned as a PDF document for you. There may be a cost for such a manual.

This is the link to the Cooper Industries (Eaton) web page with a form you can fill out to send an email:
http://webtools.cooperindustries.com/lighting/contactus/

Best wishes.

Can the PnP brand 30w motion sensor led floodlight be set to come on permanently

The specific capabilities and settings of the PnP brand 30W motion sensor LED floodlight may vary depending on the model and design. However, in general, motion sensor LED floodlights are typically designed to operate based on detected motion and have a preset duration for illumination after motion is detected.
If you would like the PnP 30W motion sensor LED floodlight to remain on permanently, overriding the motion sensor function, you can try the following steps:
1. Locate the settings: Check if the floodlight has any accessible settings or switches that allow you to adjust its operation. This could be located on the fixture itself or on a separate control module if provided.
2. Disable or bypass the motion sensor: Look for an option to disable or bypass the motion sensor function. This might involve flipping a switch, pressing a button sequence, or adjusting a specific setting. Consult the product manual or contact the manufacturer's customer support for guidance on how to accomplish this for your specific model.
3. Connect the floodlight to a separate power source: If disabling the motion sensor function is not possible or practical, you can consider connecting the floodlight to a separate power source that provides constant power. This could involve bypassing the original wiring or using a separate switch or power outlet that remains on continuously.
It's important to note that overriding the motion sensor function may affect the energy efficiency and intended purpose of the floodlight. Motion sensor lights are typically designed to conserve energy by only activating when motion is detected, providing illumination when needed. Keeping the light on permanently may result in increased energy consumption and reduced bulb lifespan.
Always refer to the product manual or consult the manufacturer's instructions for the specific model of the PnP 30W motion sensor LED floodlight to ensure you understand its features and limitations.

User manual for fl09sbk light

It appears this device is rate 10 amps at 230 volts = 2300 watts.
Use at least #14 wire and 15 amp breaker.
Connect wire at connection point on light.
Unit appears to have a transformer, and might make humming sound.
There is override located somewhere on unit. Possibly as a button on the motion sensor

If infrared motion detector requires separate wiring connection, then use following wiring illustration:

Motion sensor will probably have 2 settings.
1st setting for sensitivity, so it will not activate when cat walks up driveway.
2nd setting for time duration, selectable from 30 seconds to 7 minutes

Outdoor floodlights burning out quickly

Cheap fixtures NOT likely the problem.

Many floodlights have limited life of the bulbs certainly 750 hours or less.

If these are on for 10 hours at night they should burn out after roughly 2.5 months.

You should probably test the voltage at the fixture since the life of incandescent bulbs is related to about the twelfth power of the applied voltage.

If the voltage is 5% high, the life will be reduced about 40%.
