The service manual is time stamped, 2014 rev.0
so can be 5 years old.
the F2 bios information page is TRUE year, build date.
the dismantled PC has vast tags with dates,
the chips, on all boards in pc have date codes.
the DVD drive if present the label has date.

the manual free at dell.com shows how to do this.
1; POWER ON, FROM FULL OFF.
2: HAMMER F2 KEY (tap, tap ,tap) bang, BIOS MAIN PAGE POPS
3: CLICK INFORMATION
READ LINE 5 (BUILD DATE)
END SAGA.

example of modern DELL bios , mine.

question 2, is it in warranty, ask dell.
click detect on the dell.com page, easy no?
if the PC is dead, post all symptoms
    newer dells have ePSA diagnostics.
F12 key runs that, and is a wise first step
with a PC that acts funny.

or inside case, see cover made 2014 and PC assembled 2015
    this is your case rear.
endless clues inside if PC dead or BIOS dead.
endless, ask. can demo the all if asked.

Have you change settings on your router? if not try to disconnect and reconnect your dell computer. if still not working. turn off both laptop, turn off the router and modem. wait for 10-20 seconds then turn on the modem first, and if the modem is stable, turn on the router, and if it is stable, turn on the dell computer and try to connect. If still fails, try to delete wireless profile adn recreate it. If still fails, check device manger if there is a problem in your wireless driver. If still cannot connect, perform system restore.

You have had Win 7 for TWO YEARS? Hmmmm well anyway thats the problem. You see Win 7 and games don't MIX, the only way may help is to run in compatibility mode for XP SP2, and Run & Install as Administrator.

You can also pick up the batteries less expensive than most computer places at batteries plus. And yes it sounds as though it is the batteries charge is getting low, especially if it runs fine when the battery is out and you have it plugged in.
