No Codes at start up in low speed. 6 flashes on start up in hi speed. scooter will not stop in revers on high speed.

My Friends Pride legend xl 3 wheel scooter works fine in low speed and no codes, but if he turns up the speed to half way or more he can travel forward no problem but as soon as he reverses and lets go of lever, it keeps going and no brake activation. if he turns the key on in high speed, he gets 6 flashes and no operation.

SOURCE: THE SCOOTER MAKES A HIGH PITCH NOISE WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED ON

The buzzer is a piezo-electric device that is the "horn" for the scooter. It also will alert when the scooter is in reverse, if this option is programmed into the scooter. It receives its power from the PC board or console board which is located inside the top of the shroud at the tiller, where the thumb paddles that direct the scooter are located. If liquids have reached the board, or if condensation has affected the board, the circuit that controls the buzzer may have shorted causing it to come on constantly.

Opening the top of the shroud is fairly simple. Remove about 6 screws holding the clamshell cover together, remove the speed adjust knob, and it should come apart. Inside you'll see a PC (printed circuit) board, green in color with lots of small electronic parts embedded on it. The buzzer is also inside, usually about the size of a marshmallow and black in color with tiny holes to let the noise escape. There will be two wires leading from the buzzer to the plug-in at the PC board. Unplug the buzzer and the noise will stop, but you won't have use of the "horn" at all. Replacing the PC board can be done by a certified Pride tech, but it will probably cost you about $150.00 for parts and labor.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: The Pride GoGo 4 wheel scooter does not move

Hi. How many beeps between pauses? This is a fault code.
A couple of problems might cause this fault. Is your free-wheel lever in the correct place. These levers operate a switch, that tells the controller that the brake is disabled, this stops the controller from driving the scooter with out brakes.

Might also be caused by a stuck brush in the motor. This is usually caused by the caps that hold the brushes in, not being tight enough. Check the brushes, make sure they slide in and out smoothly, retighten the caps. Be carefull because these caps can crack easily.
Good luck. Neil.

SOURCE: Pride Celibrity 3 wheel electric scooter. The motor isn't working

the click is the electric brakes releasing , most likly the problem you are having is the brushes in the motor may be shot cheap easy fix on each side of the motor there should be what looks like a flat head screw those are the brush covers remove them and check them replace as need , otherwise the motor may be shot

Why won't my pride legend start?

The legend has a Curtis controller. The flash codes you provided points the problem to a faulty throttle pot. If a new throttle does not fix the issue, then your problem is the controller itself.

Hi. Is the machine display any fault codes, ( flashing battery light)? Is the free-wheel lever in the correct place, Move it in and back again and try it. It is possible that you have a stuck brush in the motor. Get a multi meter and check the resistance through the motor. Check that the brake unit is releasing properly.
If one of the battery lights is flashing, count the flashes and let us know what the pattern is, and we can tell you what it means. Good luck. Neil.

I have a 2002four wheel Legend Mobility scooter.

Hi. A lot of scooters have a seperate switch to select a high or low speed setting.
This switch is sometimes labeled indoor/ outdoor.
I have had a few scooters with a similar fault, and the wires that connect to the high/low switch have broken of the terminals on the rear of the switch.
It could also be a faulty speed control pot.
Check these and good luck. Neil.

The diagnostic flash codes for your scooter are designed to help you perform basic troubleshooting quickly and

turned off, then turned back on.
